Let's hope even lower. S2 just dropped to $1,450 with coupon shipping the 26th.
Time to "flush the toilet"...I mean "the old farm"...

...when miners swarm it like Stannis Baratheon's forces riding into the trees north of the wall, to get their next buy-a-miner fix.
That fag couldn't conquer a mall full of teenagers. Only a fool would think he is the one true king. All kings including the wannabes are fools, it takes stupidity to piss your life away trying to be one when you can piss your life away staring at your miner mining BTC without all that back stabbing horseshit. All the same, we do not kneel With you on that one....

I beleive the launch price will be between 1.3 - 1.8 BTC each consider the RK-Box is $649 US @ 450gh and just over 1w/gh
At stock, the miner will be 0.77w/gh, and undervolted it will be 0.58w/gh. So i think Bitmain will factor this, and of course average rise of BTC when calculating ROI pricing.

I could see 1.3 maybe but no way 1.8. Something about BITMAIN is they like to absolutely CRUSH the competition when it come to $/GH. I really think were looking at 1 - 1.2btc

I really think were looking at 1 - 1.2btc BitMain has never "crushed" the competition based solely on price. They've often had the best pricing per GHs but they aren't stupid enough to undercut everyone by a large margin when they don't have too. They want to keep their profit margins as high as they possibly can. And when someone gets close to their price or undercuts them, they will reduce their price... but only when necessary. Expect pricing just slightly below Rbox or you will be very disappointed.

A comparison to S2 is irrelevant imho, as S3 comes without a PS or full enclosure. Actually the smaller hash rate/size is a good decision, as it will be easier to ship, easier to make a 'buy decision' and will come below the customs/VAT/GST threshold in some cases (or at least will make it less painful). Another consideration is that if you intend to mine and then sell the h/w, it is a lot easier to sell something like S1 or S3 on eBay than a >=1TH 'beast'. Cheers

As far as I know yes, would really like to know the price first though and whether or not it's worth to get 10 of these imported to the UK. The import tax will be the real killer here. If BITMAIN could shred some light on UK import prices that would be a really proactive thing for a company to do!

If BITMAIN could shred some light on UK import prices that would be a really proactive thing for a company to do! It's frustrating, because I remember when the S1 cost 1.45BTC (when BTC=$800ish), they declared it at a super-low value, so that import charges were around £20. And then after a while, they started to declare at full value, meaning a 0.8BTC S1 (when BTC=$500ish) was costing more like £50-60 in import cost. I hope they declare this new unit at a low value, as it can really affect ROI's etc!
