AMD Radeon R9 290X

42000 KHhash/s

Is normal?

thank you

You should get closer to 50,000 kh/s .

What version of the miner are you using?

Easy way to find out is that the GUI reports the version in 1.3 if you see no version then your before 1.3.

Also, what are your settings?

I do not know how to set, need to overclock?

Version 1.2
Where to download the 1.3 version, thank you very much!!!

I'm not sure why the original post hasn't been updated yet. I know Viz has been very busy.

Maybe KryptoKash can update the original post with the latest version of the miner?

Here is the link to it from my dropbox. I'm the dev of the miner so it's built right from my source on my dev machine.

This version will apply the settings automatically for you. So no need to mess with overclock settings yourself.

Please let me know if this helped to increase your performance Smiley .

Really the timelines depends a lot on our publicity, as if I open the source now it will be ripe for the picking for clone devs.

...White paper is 43 pages now, there has been a lot of new development that I am introducing with this paper.
So keep posted, I am releasing everything in stages  Wink

Thank You,
Viz.

A couple more points and then I will shut up. Smiley

What if publicity is dependent upon open-sourcing?  How do you expect people to be excited about innovation that they cannot explore for themselves?

So what if someone forks the source code, CoinShield will be there to make sure nobody is able to release a clone coin, right?

There will never be a "right time" to open-source... and when Satoshi released Bitcoin to the public, it was open-source from the beginning.  I've seen it many, many time, developers constantly kicking the can down the road to open-source for fear of someone copying them.

The greatest compliment you could receive is someone forking your protocol, open-sourcing it, and spending time developing it.

Need capitalization activation, and if someone like Josh Garza stole the code and released as their own [highly likely] it would be counter.
Publicity is not based around the open source, as about 99% of traders have no idea what it would mean, so to appeal to 1% for publicity is truly inane as one couldn't possibly get publicity in such a small sample size, publicity is based around promotion, which is what Krypto Kash is doing.

When you make a good product, it sells itself.
We are here to change the way everyone sees crypto, we are a long haul, a slow grind, as that's truly what makes a real world currency, not a pump dump coin which bases their publicity from open source because they alter it very little.

Capitalization activation is the required market capitalization for Coin Shield to use recyclers.
There's a few more things I can't say just yet as I want it to be a surprise, but you can know that the first 11 features I built are the base - the beginning to the long list of features I will be releasing in Coin Shield over time.

This is what it takes to make something real, and applicable to the Real World.

Thank You,
Viz.

Note: Unfortunately with so many scams, I would rather not feel "complimented" when other people use my source for pump and dump schemes to scam new users who may not understand it fully. It will come in time, I want to wait until I get the LLL integration, as there is still a lot of code I'm replacing with my own.

Alright I read up on all the information I could and downloaded the CSD 1.0.2 wallet.  Got some buy orders in on Bittrex.  I am looking forward to the POS in 1.0.3 and hopefully open-source of the project. Proof-of-stake addition should really make the network kick ass.  Open-sourcing will allow more exchanges to view the source code and consider adding it to the market.  I made a coin request on Poloniex and Cryptsy.

Hmm are you using everything from v 1.3 including the .bat file?

Don't use anything from the older miner.

If you are using the new miner and it's files and weren't changing settings before then that's pretty weird.

I test with an R9 290 and I get between 49 MH/s and 50 MH/s, letting the miner choose the settings.

Try putting this in the .bat file as another option: --auto-settings true

Also, do you have the latest catalyst drivers installed?

What you guys think about a different exchange ticker?

I like XCS

Since there is a new core release 1.0.3 soon, think about the long-term how you want this coin to be perceived in marketplace for traders.

A ticker hardly gives any value to anything. Perhaps a tiny tiny boost to some real shitcoin....
That's my thoughts about that.
Better to stay focused on real development!

Change...is in the air.

Hey cwrmyy888 .

So I updated my drivers and ran a test on my dev machine again.

It seems with the latest drivers I get about 42 MH/s . I think I was using 13.12 when I was getting close to 50 MH/s .

So 44 MH/s on the latest drivers is actually quite good.

I'm glad you found the issue.

If you have any more issues please don't hesitate to ask and I'll try to help you solve them.

Also, if you have any issues with the miner or CoinShield in general you can post on the CoinShield talk forum for fast replies:

http://coinshieldtalk.org/

If you haven't made an account there yet you should. That's where all of the voting for garbage coin cleanup is happening.

Hey mumus thank you for the link in the forum and your research into the issue at the time.

Hopefully AMD's OpenCL libraries will become more stable in the future.

There's actually another issue I found while working on the NVIDIA integration that might help to improve performance for some older AMD cards.

It will be hard to test since I have only one old(ish) card, an HD 6950, and it's unreliable...

So I guess we'll see when I release the next version.

After the NVIDIA integration is finished I was thinking of trying to pick up an old 4870x2 for testing older cards.

Most likely only a small portion of miners are actually using old cards but it would be cool to test with.
