S2 with coupon or wait for S3

my coupon expires in 12 hours

I only have about 2.5 - 3 BTC to get some more gear

should I hold off to get possibly 2-3 S3's or snag the S2 with my coupon while I can?

(I already have the PSU's needed to run 3 S3's)

My reasoning is on a lot of levels.  here are some

1) the s-3 is supposed to be quieter then the s-2

2) the s-3 is easier to resell since it cost less and is easier to ship.

3) 3 s-3's are 1.5th  vs 1th

4) if the s-2 fails you are at zero hash

5) if 1 s-3 fails you are at 1th hash.



lastly  if the s-3 is terrible you could buy rk-miners   I think 2 of them are a better deal then one s-2 is.   but this is a tiny bit off topic.

2xS3 = 1TH/s at 800 watts give or take.

S3 is ??

S2 has integrated PSU
S3 requires separate PSU with 4xPCIe connectors (which you already have according to your post)

I have 3 s-1's mining right now sold the other 13.  I never put any 1th machines in house.  

But I am getting 1 s-3 and 1 rk-box  to compare them..     My guess is I will end  up with more s-3's then rk-boxes but I will wait and see.

16 S1s... throw a couple in each room of your house this past winter and you had some nice space heaters... mining BTC and saving on your heating bill as well

I got my S2 from juan's groupbuy and I love it, super solid and runs like a champ.. I held off on getting an A1 clone from lee because I was skeptical of build quality compared to my beloved S2 lol

I'd say wait for the S3.  I've gotten 2 S2's and both of them came in damaged (one much worse than the other).  The S1/S3 design seems to be a lot better with shipping the way the blades are attached.  We all know that damaged hardware doesn't resell for as much

that is my plan for the s-3's

bitmaintech has stated these are quieter and since they are shock shielded much better then the s-1's  were .  I plan to run  6 to 12 of them this winter-fall.

My 200 a month  winter heating bill should drop to under 50 bucks a month.
