We're also working on things that might help speed that up in the meantime too. Hopefully you won't have to wait the full time.

We're also working on things that might help speed that up in the meantime too. Hopefully you won't have to wait the full time.

more consistent block times I think would be helpful right now blocks seems to come in spurts at different times of the day

I too would be curious where Bitmark development stands...it seems many of the roadmap dates have come and went. Is there anything non-devs can "look and feel" since Oct? What progress has been made since Poloniex implementation? Judging from the price dropping below mining cost to 0.000455, there doesn't seem to be a lot of confidence ATM   Also I no longer see marking advertised on the Poloniex home page.

The addition of BTM to Poloniex was very promising, just curious what "beta" of higher level items we can help market and spread since then, or even play around with and test since many of us supporters are not developers. There have been some very cool screen shots of a platform of sorts that looked very promising by Mark. I would hate for this project to go dark, when it held so much promise and has so many interested watchers with deep pockets - this I'm sure of.

If it's a matter of no development time available for mark/others, and the initial promises and commitments made this Summer for the various donations have been met, then there is a good precedence for deep pocketed investors to front more funds. Or, if it's just a lack of organization, I would be very surprise as this project started with some of the best usage of Trello and other Project Management tools I've seen. Hows the communication between contributors?

I'm also curious where the talks of the diff retarget ended up, although not as important.

Dbkeys, Leathan, and Ecucoin have launched a Pfennig fork with the intention of testing new algos out and hopefully coming up with a solution, or at least an improvement that we could potentially integrate in to BTM if warranted and fully tested and stable.

Or if say demand improves on it's own before that and the problem apparently fixes itself then we can have this potential solution/imprvement 'on hold' in case we need to implement it in the future.

They are working on it in Slack under channel #pfennig. It's quite a hard problem to solve so it's not something that's going to happen over night. But any improvements that get tested will be worth looking at. Also, there appear to be other currencies attempting to solve this problem as well like Vertcoin so maybe we'll see some collaboration or discussion at some point.

However, the milestones in this roadmap are quite some time in the past.

From what I have observed

- Core dev is down 90%+ from its peak
- Daily marking is down 90%+ from its peak
- Mining is down 90%+ from its peak
- Price is probably the most stable only down about 80% from its peak
- Some of the projects based on marking (real world marking, music site, markthis) seem to have stalled

Much of the work was believed to being done in private repositories.  Then this was to be moved to a public open source project, but that has not yet happened.  There are, imho legitimate, concerns that something is not right about this project, ranging from whether it's a pump and dump, to wondering if coinsolidation has moved on to other things already.

What has been anticipated on a 1-2 day time frame, has changed to a 10-20 day time frame, or perhaps even a 50-100 day time frame.  

The first scenario would be good for the project, the middle I think is OK, but It's not clear how much traction this project will achieve is on the latter time scales.  

Certainly Satoshi pulled off such a feat over a 10 year period, but I think the landscape has changed a lot now

2015 may well be a big year for bitmark, and I hope it is!  I think the project could do well if mark stays with it.  But imho, there are still some unknowns.

You bring up some valid concerns. At this stage of the game, it would be great to see an updated road map. When I originally came across Bitmark there really seemed to be an intense amount of development and outreach going on, and this may still be the case, but on the outside looking in, it does seem as if this have slowed down a great deal. I understand the development process can be overwhelming, not to mention every day personal life issues take priority.

Additionally, I have a concern regarding a separate matter. A while back, it was requested the community provide developer loans. I happily sent .3 btc as a loan and have patiently waited. If I am not mistaken, the terms of the loans were to be paid in 60 days @ 10%. I sent my loan on August 21, 2014 and have had no further update and/or payment. Please provide an update.

As EsteNuno says, I have been a little ill since Christmas, nothing serious merely run down after last year and when I stopped I caught a cold and flu. I'm feeling much better now, and more importantly, it appears that this is one ship that cannot sail without a captain, time to get things sorted out and back up to full steam!

Woah, lets not go down that road please. Melvin wants the project to succeed as much as anyone and he's more than entitled to voice his concerns. His intentions are good and he's already contributed a massive amount to the project so to use that word that's a favourite of every alt out there with something to hide(FUD) is unwarranted in my opinion.

Confidence should be earned anyway. People should be able to speak their mind and raise concerns in a constructive manner.
