I had to so I assume everybody has to. Check under current miners -> your address -> merged mining blocks and look for an address. If it's not there, then you have to.

Anyways guys, I finally got port 80 mining to work! DNS still has to propagate around the net but once it's done you can point your minerd AND your bitcoin miner of choice to http://pool.p2pmining.com/. I just spent the past hour trying to figure it out with Wireshark on my home network. Turns out litecoin p2pool doesn't use HTTP POST /long-polling like the bitcoin side of things does. Instead it uses HTTP POST / and that's the filter. I'll have the thread updated by Jaycoin in the next couple days so it gets time to propagate around for you guys.

Alrighty guys and girls! http://pool.p2pmining.com apparently has already propagated around most of the internet. If you get a DNS error, you can switch your primary DNS server to 8.8.8.8 (Google DNS) and then connect.

This system handles both Litecoin miners AND Bitcoin miners through a filter based on certain criterion to forward the request onto the appropriate main port.


If you get ANY issues with this system, PLEASE PM ME! I only tested minerd 2.2.2 and cgminer 2.6.4 on this server but i doubt that there will be any issues.
This system can be used even if you don't have a strict firewall blocking random ports like the litecoin and bitcoin ports.

Great to see it back up! I never changed my cgminer config since the hack happened (just had direct p2pool mining as failover) so it just recently automatically switched back at some point.

I noticed a couple of random small payments from p2mining that I received. If I recall correctly, it seemed there was a certain point (.50 BTC?) where the payouts would come, but these are in much smaller amounts. Just curious what those are from—donations or subsidies? My memory is a bit rusty now.

Can you provide me with the TXIDs of the payments? I'll try to look it up on this end. Also, when did you receive these payments? If it was before Sept 6th at 8PM CST, it was probably your miner found us online during the testing phase. Since then, we've cleaned out the wallets and paid people who were owed the BTC/MM rewards and whatnot. That might be why. But again, Throw us a link with the TXIDs and I'll try to look it up.

EDIT: As a side note, when we paid out rewards and what not, we created new wallets afterwards and truncated the db tables. So if it was before that date, I'd have no record of it.

Some feature suggestions for you since I know nothing about php coding: Merged Mining Unpaid Rewards data for miner pages and an extra field on the blocks with a cron job to check for orphan blocks and mark them as such on the website or remove the orphan blocks from view.

Just throwing some ideas out there.

Second, any idea why bamt mines on this pool for a little while then kicks out to a backup? I'm not having a problem with my windows boxes, just BAMT. Also, would it be possible, some time down the road, to put a character or something at the end of our payout address so that we could identify individual machines? So, I could see when a machine is down, basically.

Not sure honestly... Have you tried running cgminer to see if it's phoenix 2? Also, it could be server-side as i made an oops in the haproxy config file for port 80 redirection... if you're not using that, then disregard.

This is due to me having to edit the LTC p2pool instance's python code for long-polling to be under a different name so that haproxy would properly forward port 80 at http://pool.p2pmining.com/ to the right instance. I sincerely apologize for not noticing it sooner.

UPDATE: To mine LITECOINS on port 80, use http://ltc.p2pmining.com/. Apparently what played nice for me last night isn't playing nice anymore. DNS may take some time to propagate around the internet. Until then, sit tight and if you can, use the default http://p2pmining.com:9327 to mine litecoins.

It was the same on the old server. Not a huge deal but I'll try cgminer on bamt and see if it works. It does work if p2mining is the only pool, however.

eroxors: If it does work then it's something with phoenix 2... But either way, I would post at least a 24 hour notice if i needed to restart the server (unless it was an immediate security threat) and that would take maybe 5-10 minutes to do.
