Dean, I just found another bug on the website. Can we solve the bug bounty publicly?


EDIT: It might not be considered a bug. But anyways Dean has made it open after my email. So here it is .
 Usually when you type in a new client seed, then the nonce should reset to 0. But it does not happen on PRC. meaning if you type in a new client seed when you are at nonce 5, of the previous seed, then the new client seed starts from nonce 5.
This can create confusion for people verifying bets. On other sites, it usually resets, but again its not wrong if Dean programs it this way.
Just pointing it out.

actually, you wouldn't want the nonce to restart to 0 if you just update the client seed?  That is because the server seed doesn't change.  IF the server seed changed if you changed the client seed, then the nonce should be able to reset. as then you're guaranteed new random rolls.

If you were able to change the client seed but keep the server seed the same, AND reset the nonce, you could roll a few times on one seed, check the results, change the client seed 2x (once to a new one, then once to the old one) and the nonce would reset, and you would know the roll results?

Correct, that would be a serious security issue.

Make 10 rolls with client seed "test". Change client seed to "test2" to reset nonce. Change back to "test" and know the next 10 rolls

In theory you could disallow the same client seed + server seed combination, but I think it's fine like this.

in theory you could, but that seems to be a lot of unnecessary storage work.  (you'd have to make sure that across all users that used combinations don't get used, in case someone has the same server hash/seed as someone else previously).  Better to just not reset nonce unless server seed is changed.

To get the bot to work for PRCdice, enter https://prcdice.eu in the secret url box, click go and select the prcdice radio button at the top of the bot. Now Finnile is doing anything he can to pretend he knows what he is talking about in order to get bitcoin for bug. Really finnile, this time you just looked like a fool. How many episodes of "Dean wakes up, sees a player has won big and takes the site down" do I need to see before I'm worried that the site being about 300btc under EV for investors isn't just a fluke? Seriously, if people still have money invested they should be told why the site is being taken down for 24 hours.
