The Simpsons and Family Guy crossover for their special, hour-long episode, Bitcoin made a small shout-out on a billboard gag. As seen below, the gag features Springfield’s beloved bully, Jimbo Jones.
There was no mention of Bitcoin throughout the rest of the episode. Peter Griffin, the father from Family Guy, met Homer Simpson, the father from The Simpsons, and had hilarious lines of dialogue.

At one point, the two were drinking beer together. Laden with subtle hints of criticism that Family Guy is just a rip off, the conversation turns to the differences between Duff beer and Pawtucket Ale. It turns out that both are the same beer after peeling off the label of Pawtucket Ale to find a Duff logo.

Do you think that's has meaning ?

I think "send me your lunch money online" is a joke on the bully going the extra mile to take money. We all know majority of the public still think of Bitcoin in terms of shady online transactions, so that's probably the reason it got referenced. Joke's on them, most people here think that honor goes to Monero.  Grin

Nah, it's just a joke. Nothing in there to promote bitcoin. Actually it just seem to acknowledge the belief that bitcoins are mostly used for criminal activity online.

Maybe because it is getting popular since it hit $3000 price that time, bullying and bitcoin don't have any connections so I think it s like that. The line "give me your lunch money online" is funny, you add up the bitcoin accepting thing because it is online, makes it hilarious.

I saw Peter mention bitcoin on a episode of Family Guy another time, he looked at the screen and said 'Bitcoin!!'. That was it. No explanation or joke after that about bitcoin.

There was a bump on AS that had all the writers favorite altcoins and I think Dogecoin was the top of the list.

Yeah, the joke was that he's such a bully, he'd go to great lengths to get lunch money, even having to use cryptocurrency. I don't know what date this episode was aired so I don't know if it got to do with the hype.

What is this AS? Also, never thought their writers are into alts.

I  saw this too, and mentioned it a while back. Poster is referring to Adult Swim, night time adult animation for college kids (it comes on from like 11ish to  3am ish). Goes well with pizza, pot, and  the FPS of your choice.

It was hard as hell to find this, here:

Must be the reason I didn't see this. I don't live in the US and the only Adult Swim I watch are the Robot Chicken clips on Youtube.

Edit: Also, LOLed at the name of these coins, didn't notice when I first saw your image... Unobtainium and HoboNickels was hilarious.. Oh, 42coin, gives meaning to life. Unfortunately there was just 42 of them.  Grin

Well, The Simpsons are prophets. So they have the right to promote or make fun of these topics.
I'm really surprised how they predict Trump's position.

The joke isn't about Bitcoin.  The joke is that students carry their lunch money into school to buy lunch, so this is just literally sending any random money over the Internet.  It's also about how difficult it is to force people to send money online, because people would be separate from the bully.  Bitcoin is just a surface-level joke that the Simpsons like having more often these days to appeal to people who don't actually get it.

It's shocking that I have to explain this to people.

The Simpsons is pretty deeply satirical anyway, I wouldn't take any joke of theirs as a direct insult so much as pointing out how stupid the entire situation of doing that would be.

They didn't.  That was around 2000, when Trump had mentioned considering running for President and it was a bit of a joke among people.

I do not know what the Simpsons are talking about, but the fact is that there is a Simpsons cartoon, then we can very clearly see a parallel between today's political situation and what is happening in the world and also in the country. Humor is the second side of our life.

,this thus show that the popularity of BTC is slowly introduced to normal citizens and even if it is just a show or a joke, it really indicates that through media promoting ones product may also increase the usage and users. I don't see any bad intentions on that promotion or endorsement.

Last night during The Simpsons and Family Guy crossover for their special, hour-long episode, Bitcoin made a small shout-out on a billboard gag.
