Why not SDK 2.6?
SDK 2.6 blows for 5xxx cards. 2.1 yields the highest hash-rates.

OK, which version of Catalyst is this then for SDK 2.6?
Creating a Bitcoin client that fully implements the network protocol is extremely difficult. Bitcoin-Qt is the only known safe implementation of a full node. Some other projects attempt to compete, but it is not recommended to use such software for anything serious. (Lightweight clients like Electrum and MultiBit are OK.)

Which Catalyst version is optimal then for 5xxx cards is it 12.1?

Good one. What temps are you getting out of them?

Should really pay the extra like $3 to join a second crate to space those things out. Cards jammed together vs cards with a little space is a surprisingly large temperature delta. Save you from blowing hot ass air down onto your mobo too. ($10 box fan would move more air in a preferable direction.)
