Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

Not yet, currently i'm working on a new wallet and a new block explorer. The key things are to enhance the stability of the Maia chain so i may hard fork the chain also, which will require a mandatory update.

More details very soon...

Ok folks the plan to get things back on track will be as follows..

Details

1) Major updates to the wallet.
The new wallet will include some improvements to help stabilise the network. As with a lot of PoS projects, once the network PoS hash rate gets too low the block chain stalls. To help combat this new permanent staking nodes will be created and PoW mining will be available once again for a short period of time. This is a tried a tested way to increase the amount of PoS staking happening on the network, after the mining is over.

2) PoW mining will be opened up again to boost the network performance.
Immediately available at launch of the new wallet for about 15,000 more blocks (up to block 700,000). This will ensure the forked chain will start moving again, and also to reward miners for helping to boost the network performance. Don't forget MAIA can still currently be traded for BTC on EmpoEX! https://empoex.com/trade/MAIA-BTC

3) The new wallet will have a built in Tor proxy.
One thing that has been noticed while working with the Chinese BoostCoin community, is how much normal / everyday traffic gets blocked in and out of the Great Firewall of China. Without Tor the Chinese market base would be almost impossible to tap into. So this will be a very important step towards gaining more of the Chinese community. Using Tor will be select-able from within the wallet or by setting a switch in the maiacoin.conf file.

4) Host a new block explorer, and also get the original one updated with the new code
Soon after the new wallet is released, a new Block Explorer will be created that will be behind both a normal FQDN and also a hidden Tor service. Again using Tor here is focused toward getting the Chinese markets involved.

5) New checkpoint syncing service
A new check-pointing service will be set up so that periodic checkpoints will be shared between the wallets. This will ensure there is less possibility of any bad forks occurring. Also a new checkpoint is set so new wallets will be forced onto the correct chain when re-syncing.

Important Info
Due to the new updates and features, this update will require a mandatory hard fork. A snapshot of the current block chain which will be available to anyone who needs to download and re-sync again.

Procedure

1) Download a new wallet
2) Make a backup of your wallet.dat file (Always good practice to keep your coins safe!!)
3) Run the new wallet. Ensure it starts to gain connections.
4) Enable / Disable the Tor proxy if you wish by selecting form the options dialog, or by setting torproxy=x (1 or 0) in the maiacoin.conf file. and restart the wallet.
5) Start mining against the MAIA wallet using X15, CPU or GPU mining. Suprnova.cc will be hosting a pool again for any user who wish to mine there.

Recently i have a had many PM and message on QQ from users who wanted to see MAIA get back on track. Hopefully this will satisfy those requests Smiley

The new wallet release is scheduled for early next week. more details to follow soon!

=============================================================

EmpoEX! https://empoex.com/trade/MAIA-BTC

>> Update <<

As promised, new wallet coming soon.
I've pulled in all the code advances from BoostCoin to align both projects. This will be a hard fork to ensure the stability of the network. Many new features including...

- The ability to keep the block chain moving even when the PoS weight is very low
- Import of the Bitcoin BIP66 fixes.
- Hybrid Tor connectivity. This helps to keep your location anonymous, and even to stay connected behind huge boundaries such as the Great Chinese Firewall!
- Use the wallet as a Tor Proxy for your browser
- New graphical layout.
- Better staking rewards

Hi, really sorry for the long delay, I'm waiting for BTC38 to finish re-syncing their BOST wallet. This is planned so MAIA and BOST development can be brought in line, so then we can push to get MAIA listed on new exchanges.

Check out the explorer (currently syncing on the new blockchain)

>> Mandatory Wallet Update <<

Apologies for the long delay in getting the new system up and running, the delays have been based on other developments.

Information:
Here is the latest MaiaCoin wallet, which includes many new features and improvements. More info on these will be posted soon once the cross project developments come in line with each other..
X15 Mining is re-enabled for about 10,000 more blocks at the same reward per block as before but the block re-target has been extended to 5 minutes. This greatly reduces the amount of blocks created and will help to reduce the block chain size in the future.
This is a mandatory update for everyone, so some of you might need to re-sync to get on the correct block chain. As a result the exchanges must also update which i will notify you once they have done. So for the time being don't try to send them to the exchanges until they have confirmed the updates.

Connectivity:
The new wallet includes a built in native Tor proxy, this will help any of you behind those Great Firewalls connect, and can also be used as a SOCKS proxy for your browser. To use the wallet, simply select the option from within the wallet or add ‘torproxy=1’ to your maiacoin.conf file.
If you need to re-sync there is a bootstrap.dat file available to help speed up the process.

Hi, yeah i've found the issue, and will be pushing out new wallets in the next few hours.

Due to the incorrect data in the bootstrap.dat, i will revert the chain on the nodes back to block 685115. Once ready the new chain will be spawned form that block

edit:

Sorry guys, i will need more time to fix this... Have to create new wallets, test re-sync from block 0, and get the chain moving again...
