So... i've decided to create an offline wollet (BIP38 ENCRYPTED) to a computer that hath never connected to the internet but i am concernd very concerned...

wot if I use an old computer with xp or vista with outdated browers?

will this affect or corrupt possible key generation using bitaddress?  Will an outdated browser support bitaddress?  It's the corruption I'm worried about.  Yes I could test it now but 40 years down the line if when I want to cash in my investment from a BIP38 key a lot of code will change how do I know that I haven't lost 40 years of my life with this.

If this did happen and I lost it all I think I would probably kill myself.

Won't I need to connect to the internet to install java as most websites now don't let you download an exe file to transfer they force you to download a little exe file that you click on to download the main program from their servers

just save yourself the trouble and create a paper cold wallet. you can do it easily through blockchain.info. as long as you don't lose the piece of paper with your public/private keys printed on it, your coins will be safe. no corrupted data to worry about... ever.

You can use the blockchain paper wallet as suggested above but if you don't want to do that just make few paper wallets on that old machine of yours, which ever os/browser you're using, try to send/receive coins using the prvt keys generated and when you're satisfied that the keys and paper wallets created in that old machine is safe. Make cpl of paper wallets and keep them offline and only use them when you need to perform a transaction.

Yes, browser may affect. Get a usb-bootable Linux or so.. It's also recommended to use each address just once (to send coins out of the address.) Multiple deposits to the address is OK.

Sending coins to the paper wallet, would be fine. Just send coins, and go to blockchain and paste your bitcoin address and see if it was received. {This is how you test, if the paper wallet worked}

Once you use your private key online, to transfer or use the coins, it is generally accepted that the paper wallet is compromised. {Because you typed it in, while you are online, someone might have it key logged or monitored your screen output, and screen captured your private key}

So a paper wallet, is meant for offline savings.

It's fine, to use the public key or bitcoin address, because nobody can do anything with it, without the private key. 

Your browser version have nothing to do with this in future, because the bitcoin protocol reads your address not the browser. {Hope I explained that in the correct sense}

I hath ordered a DVD+Read only and will use the linux os to generate offline paper keys just like andrea monopuloin suggested using a live cd

I have tried the linux os for a few days and im well impressed with it

a few things i hath noticed...

the HDD LED doesnt blink constantly hardly ever
there is no bloatware and only the necessary software installed
every peice of software is certified before download
does not hath 63+ active processes on the system

i cant believe i didnt try it sooner its just sleek and ubuntu since im not a programer i used the user friendly version of linux

and im sure if it goes online only when necessary to update things it should be ok?

maybe i dont need a read only since i cant download or save anything to it

i will give blockchain a try also which is best

I assume he wants to generate addresses on a computer which never touches the internet, which is one of the safest ways to store bitcoin.

I have used bitaddress.org offline now for about 6 months with no problems.  I would suggest coming up with a method of storing and retrieving coins and test extensively using small amounts.  There are many ways to do it.  Google is your best friend.  This may take a month or more before you get comfortable enough with your procedure to use it with larger amounts of money.  I would definitely generate coins in a manner in which the private keys never see the internet until you redeem them.  

edit:  I have a new PC (Windows 8.1) and use google chrome to generate addresses offline with bitaddress.  This PC never sees a network of any kind.  I realize this may be a bit expensive for some folks but I have yet to have a problem with it.
