Gotta give some credit to BitmainWarranty. Had a controller fail on an S3+ I bought in July and BitmainWarranty is replacing it for me at no cost. Gotta love that!

antminer s3+ undervolt

here is the better result

update new firmware
310gh
freq. 150
adv. config voltage 065
HW .003 20 ment. idle

how to drop voltage

parallel 2.2k resistor on VFB to Vout resistor

.68 for 2.2k
.75 for 6.8k

great solution, did the same with 2,2k: 310-315 GH/s at 185 W with Thermaltake Hamburg instead of 440 GH/s at 380W, thanks for your support.

As I killed 3 SMD Resistors (resistor part disconnected to soldering ends) , I figured out, that the full substitution is 1,2k.

At the end the resistor in circiut is 1,06k.

Reset button will do that, assuming the unit was on one of the newer firmwares where it works.

Check Dogie's guide at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=702653.  There is a reset switch accessible from the front panel, next to the 2 LEDs and Ethernet connector.  You power it up, press the reset button through the hole using a paper clip or similar thin object, hold it for 5-10 secs.  This will reset it to factory defaults, including the password.

Cheers

Are the lights suppose to change when pressing the button? They all stay lite, like pressing it does nothing.

Yes they are, suggests the unit is on a firmware where the reset button's functionality is broken. While you wait for your seller to reply to your password email, you can SSH and control them from there. This will at least get you up and running.

1) SSH to S3, Login root/root
2) Type "screen -r". Wait for all the messages to go through.
3) Type "P" to enter Pool Management.

Having a problem with the S3+ miner I returned to Bitmain to exchange for a new miner. The miner they sent was not brand new, and I have having the same problem.  Please advise on what I should do now.  I already tried to upgrade the firmware.

can you post a bigger screen as this one is almost unreadable?
what happens when you underclock?

PSU is EVGA 1300 G2. Set it to S3 voltage same thing. I am going to flash it with the latest firmware again, and uncheck "save settings".  I also have another miner, its the same S3+, same pool, same power supply and it runs fine...

I flashed the S3+ and it looks different now, I think the voltage wasn't 0000 before and now it is. Another thing I notice, sometimes the Antpool works and other pools don't. Hopefully this fixes it.

How do you expect to ssh in with root/root if the password was changed? If root doesn't work for the webui pass it won't work for ssh either(barring some very unusual configuration). You should upgrade the firmware as soon as you are able to login as you are most likely on the very dangerous oct 24th firmware. If you can't get the password from the seller you will have to use a TTL cable to reset/reflash it manually.
