That is crazy. Why would they stop accepting bitcoin? They probably just wanted to get the free publicity. I just checked. It's still there. When I went there it said the promotion had ended. EDIT: It is still an option to use bitcoin to checkout, it does say that the promotion has ended when you go to newegg.com/bitcoin (the site must assume you are responding to a promotion when you go to newegg.com/[word] I wish I had of found it! I was looking at checkout. |

This is not true. If you put something in your shopping cart and try to checkout it will give you the option to pay in bitcoin |

i posted this in the other thread, but it bears repeating. WTF is newegg doing selling overpriced "mining packs"?  These would be useless for mining Bitcoin directly. However, they would be great for mining altcoins and exchanging them to BTC. You could also use them for gaming too, although the Sempron processor is a bit weak. |

These setups are really no longer ideal for mining even scrypt based alts. Other alts are really too new and speculative to invest any meaningful amount in mining them. |

Mining an altcoin and selling it on an exchange for BTC doesn't require any significant amount of investment in the actual coin itself. You could use a site like Coinwarz.com to find the most profitable coin for your setup, mine it, and then dump it on an exchange for BTC. It doesn't really matter what coin you choose to mine since you'll be getting rid of it anyway. It's just the short-term profitability that matters. If you want to go through this route, then those Newegg mining kits would make sense. Not to mention they can double as a gaming rig when you're not mining. |

Let's say Amazon gets around to accepting bitcoin. Only an idiot would then think that the millions of little mom and pops that also sell through Amazon but are completely separate entities handling their own inventory, shipping and finances would all also accept bitcoin. Same situation here, just one level up. |

If talking about computers, DELL shop accepts bitcoin payments directly from the company which is really awesome. |
