the problem with using those 2880w psu's to run the A2's is the A2 controller board requires a 24 pin PSU connection so those would be a no go.

the problem with bronze is it gets no efficiency from 240 V unlike gold and platinum , yes bronze is cheaper up front but remember you are running miners like servers which is why server hardware requires 90+ platinum ratings since they are running 24-7 at maximum output unlike a regular pc/desktop.

Have you looked in detail at their power distribution board?  I haven't but I suspect they're not doing anything too fancy with it, so if they're only pulling the 12V lines from the PSU and jumpering the PWR ON, then you could just hack together an adapter to do it.  Then again, they could also be using the 5V for driving the Pi, in which case I don't think there's a 5v line on the IBM's.

If you haven't, I'm planning on pulling it apart in the next few weeks to add a connector for PWR ON, so I can hook it up to the same ethernet relays I used on my S5's to do remote rebooting.  The damn PDU's I ended up buying a bunch of (Tripplite) only shut off 1/2 of the 240v circuit, so sometimes the PSU's shut down, and sometimes they just dynamically switch to 110v and continue on like nothing happened - pretty annoying.

I love this stuff though, that's half the fun of fiddling with these miners - tweaking with the config, writing apps to run them, building hardware, etc.  Although I'm not making enough mining to cover my hourly rate... Wink

Great link, I hadn't seen that chart before - so even at Titanium you're only looking at a 1-2% gain to 240v...  I'll be interested to see if in practice that's what I'm also seeing with the supplies.

Yeah i have the same issue , working with these boxes on my offtime is fun but its not worth the time taken away from my other projects .

Not had a chance to look at the PDU  board but i think you are right an adapter would be fine if you could build one, The PI's seem to be powered through the 32 port gpio cable so i think 12v to the board should do it.  I dont have any spare boards for my six machines so i cant try it right now.

I missed your post about the triplite PDU's that reminds me i have 2 of those POS pdus i bought that and 20amp units same issue you have.  I ended up just saying screw it an instaled 4 30amp circiuts and bought used 24apmp /208v PDUs instead and have had no power down issues since then

You should do that its a better option than modifying the boards , I found an electricin on criaglists to do the circut upgrades for around $300 all i had to do was buy the 30amp rated cables and the lp-30 twist lock power receptacles ($19 each)

In fact im having him come in this weekend and upgrade me from a 100amp panel to 200 amp so i can power up 3 machines sitting here gathering dust since my main breaker is filled up.

In fact im having him come in this weekend and upgrade me from a 100amp panel to 200 amp so i can power up 3 machines sitting here gathering dust since my main breaker is filled up.

Yeah, I used the PDU's for the S5's - I like that they have power monitoring, but the accuracy is 1 amp, and environment sensors (temp and humidity) - but I really wanted remote rebooting, the fact they cheezed out and only put in 1 relay is lame.  Wiring wise I have everything wired with L6-30R, since that's what the PDU's have in them... I have 80amps 240v amps going there right now (my house is 200a 240v), but I'm upgrading the house circuit to 400a and running a dedicated 300a into the garage, as I don't ever get close to 100a in the house.  It's sad, all my S5's are sitting idle, since I don't have enough power to run them.

In future, I'll probably just buy dumb PDU's and not waste the money on them - one thing to keep in mind (assuming it's the same where you live), home power is rated at 240v, so if you have 100a service, that's really like 200a at 110... And the A2 only pulls down 5A at 240 - so the advantage of a PDU is more flexibility as the loads change.

I ordered a Pi2 and it arrived today, but I'm out of town for a couple days - so when I'm back, I'll probably take one of my 88's and just manually rewire it first.  I can't imagine they're using many of the wires, so at worse it might be a good option just to jumper the ones they use.  I'm building some remote rebooter boards for these also, so I'll probably just combine them and stick them on the outside of the case to avoid overheating with the Pi at the same time - most of my cases seem to have mounting screws on the top, near the Pi.

Its not the service from my line that's the problem...
Its the panel I have they installed a 125amp max panel in my basement so I'm looking to
add an additional panel on the side

So I need to know if my min in can handle 300amps with the additional panel

Hi

I just got an A2 last night from Zoomhash, and I'm having issues getting to actually mine anything.  I've tried your firmware, the stock firmware, as well as the ANX firmware.

The best I have achieved is with the stock firmware as I can see that it shows up as a worker on Litecoinpool.org, but nothing is being mined.

Looking at the status everything looks OK, but I really don't know how to interpret what I am seeing.

I would be willing to share some coin if there is anyone who can help me get this working.

Thanks

Robert

BTW - I know I should have included some screenscapes, but after a night of fighting with this, my brain is fried. There is also a question of what image/info is relevant.  If someone can help me out, I can post the images I sent to Zoomhash.

Sorry for the late reply, it seems I don't get an email anymore when there is a message in the topic.

There is no config file, but you can add it to the index.php on line 20

Hope it helps.

Thank you for the image.
It works great on the first try.
I was able to connect with DHCP by finding the IP address on my router control screen.

However, when I turned it off, and moved the miner a little, and then turned on again, and re-connected it, the a2 miner stopped mining after that.  I looked inside the front fan area and can see green lights blinking on and off on all boards.  I'm not sure, but maybe it's a hardware issue?  I sent Innosilicon an email and they said some boards might need to be reseated.  Do you have any advice or instructions on reseating the boards?

Hi guys and girls,

DISCLAMER
Use of this custom firmware is on your own risk.
Make sure to fill out your own pool information after installation of the image, and check it at the pool.

My miner is currently running overvolted on 1380MHz at about 17.4 Mhash/s/board, with about .40% HW errors at a stable temperature of +/- 36 Degrees Celcius (mind that I have a custom casing for better cooling, and heatsinks on the Voltage regulators).

Rar file with the cgminer where the pool switching parameter has been set to 1 minute instead of 5, and the correct index file (made some mistakes in the previous versions with the difficulty setting and some obsolete options have been removed). Also all the stratum code of cgminer 4.9.1 has been implemented.

This version seems to have some issues with pool switching with some users. I use miningrigrentals as my first pool to solve this problem.

If I understand it correctly and it is not a typo and you mean reseating intead of resetting than that probably means checking all connections. Plugging everything off and on again.

Hi everyone, I am a little late getting into the game but I have picked up what is described as an 110Mh A2 terminator with two bad blades shipped with two replacements. I got the two replacement blades today and looking at them one is a 10 chip board as I would expect and the other is a 12 with two missing, I notice a small loop back resistor. He said they were working replacements sent from innosilicon, they are defiantly pulls and are rough looking esp around the power connectors. I plan on taking a lot of photos, I haven't been able to find much in the way of schematics and such but plan on making a few.

Anyway hope to help with anything I can,

Jarrid

Well in typical fashion when you want something it gets lost in shipping Sad

Looking at the two boards I have it looks like there are two chains of hashing chips, the one board that has the 10 chips on it has 10 LEDs for the chips, the other board that has 12 slots but 10 chips only has 8 LEDs for the chips 1-4. Does anyone know how many different variants of these boards there are? Also can just the boards be bought and anyone have a price. The 10 chip one is  green and says it is official the other is blue and just has a version number.

I hope to have some high resolution photos next week and if I am lucky some X-Ray images at some point.

How do you modify the fan power output?  Are PWM fans compatible with the miner?  I'm looking for a way to stop the fans from spinning at 100% all the time, my room temperature is cool enough where it doesnt need to run at full speed 24/7. .. besides that, they're ridiculously loud.

thanks

The stock fans run full power, they cannot be adjusted. I have put different fans in it, that are more quite and can be adjusted (by thermocouple, although I use them at 100% speed) in speed. (replaced the one stock fan with 3 of these, less power, less noise)
