We are having close to 2000 BTC locked up in matched predicitions these days  - many of them in our popular presidential election markets.   As we receive regular emails questioning our solvency, Fairlay has published one of it's cold wallet addresses. Fairlay is holding and will always hold more than 100% of all customer balances.    https://blockchain.info/address/1EVrCZ3ahUucq3jvAqTTPTZe1tySniXuWi

For Baseball wagering, are wagers "Action" or "Listed Pitchers?"

I don't see it stated anywhere on the game or wager slip.

It does show the Pitchers' names prominently, so does that mean it is "Listed Pitchers?" And that means "No Action" if there is a change to either pitcher?

And if it is "Action" then lines will be adjusted to the new pitcher?

Thanks!

I don't know who would bet on something like that Cheesy It was always going to be obvious that Wright has some kind of agenda. The real Satoshi would gain nothing by revealing himself. Good to see you guys offering different markets though I guess. Something for everybody Smiley

Fairlay.com doesn’t want to be another automated bookie, Fairlay seeks to crowd-source information by providing a totally open prediction market.  Functioning more like a conditional exchange, the website not only allows users to bet but to see public confidence on various bitcoin and altcoin related events, as well as sports, and YouTube views.

"How prediction markets
In a typical prediction market, users make a bet, in some form or another. On Fairlay, for example, a user may simply state a prediction, and give odds, and wait for another user to match that bet."

Fairlay - 5
I had a very unique experience with this site: Around a week ago, my computer was infected with a trojan that presumably stole all my sessions and cookies. The attacker proceeded to sift through my various online accounts and requested withdrawals to his address on all my bitcoin-related accounts; I had around 2BTC on fairlay. When I noticed this the next day, I immediately sent an email to Fairlay asking not to process the withdrawal. I received an email back stating that the withdrawal would not be sent. Unfortunately, likely through a miscommunication or the like, the withdrawal did go through and the attacker received my 2BTC, I was really devastated. To my surprise however, after I emailed support about this, the owner of the site claimed responsibility for the lack of miscommunication and completely reimbursed me the 2BTC, out of his own pocket. So that should tell you how they treat their customers Smiley
Otherwise, I like the site. In general I like the idea of a bitcoin betting exchange. In addition, the commission is really low (2% on net winnings), and the interface is really clean and user friendly.

fairlay = 5 (Good looking site, functional all the time, good odds, helpful staff)

Fairlay = 4

i like the competitive way of betting against other users.

good usability : seeing the percentages, being able to scroll up and down.

Fairly 4.5 they have potential.

ty @fairlay. the odds are indeed great

I have sent the funds that I withdrew back to my account. I can't miss prices like yours.
That would be cutting my nose off to spite my face.

Site's up for me. I'm in Australia. Is it because they banned your country? I know for a fact that some sites ban australia, like primedice.

Try using a different computer if you really have problems.

looking for a signature campaign, dm me for that

We'd like to announce, that it's now possible to create a market instantly:

 https://www.fairlay.com/user/event/new

To avoid spam we require a small security deposit of 10mBTC or less. The creator should also put at least one reasonable order on the market after the creation.  If you create a market, you will receive 50% of the generated commission of your market.

@ctlaltdefeat    we tested it again and it seems creating new competitions does not work!  Thanks for reporting it!  Try an existing competition in the meantime.

We sent you a bug bounty of 30mBTC.

Can somebody explain to me why my deposit of 0.007 BTC (7mBTC) hasn't not yet been credited to my Fairlay account? It already has two three confirmations and I have refreshed my Fairlay page several times.

Deposit tx id:

Edit: It finally confirmed, but it definitely took more than 5 minutes as promised in the FAQ.

Did you do anything special to get it added? My deposit of 0.16845 BTC has confirmed 7 times already yet it hasn't been credited to my account. Way, way way more than the 5 minutes after the FIRST confirmation said in the FAQ. It's not even a huge amount. I would hate to see what you do to 1 BTC+ bettors for them to be credited.

Edit: Got credited now. Seriously though, 7 confirmations :/  Industry standard is 1 confirmation for bitcoin sportsbooks. Places like DirectBet/Nitrogen even offer 0 confirmations.

You need to browse the site for your balance to update (after a deposit).  To immediately force an update you can click on your bankroll in the top right.

Hey,

we have been a bit quiet around here. Nevertheless we implemented some cool new features:

You can now not only create any market instantly (https://www.fairlay.com/user/event/new) , it is also possible to put a LMSR Market Maker on it.  You'll find a link for it on every market page.

The cool thing about the market maker is, that you just need to set it up once. After that the odds are automatically adjusted according to what users bet.

LMSR Market Maker have other nice properties. Learn more with a google search: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=lmsr+market+maker

We have implemented an account statement, which can be found here:

 https://www.fairlay.com/user/statement/.

This helps you keep track of your balance.

We also improved the speed of the site and activated the withdrawal fee, which is now 0.2mBTC.
