hi,  im using pocnlm- gui miner the miner was working fine for awhile, sometime last night my system reset and now whenever i run the miner i get a cannot connect to bitcoin rpc server.  the exact error message is ", Problems communicating with bitcoin RPC"
Ive tried using different mining pools/servers and different miner clients and each time i get this same error.

i currently have the standard bitcoin client running on generate coins (using cpu) and it is working fine, i have also double checked the firewall to make sure ports 8332 to 8334 were open.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

I have the same problem.  All the threads I have ready say to check internet connectivity, ports, firewall and what not.  However I have two rigs both have the same components and share the same internet connection.  Both running the Linux Coin off a bootable usb, using the same arguments.  One connects just fine, the other give me that error every time.
