Here are some results of the recent analysis.

In regards to the sync issue, it is probably the same as before over the years, with the hash rate fluctation. Just need to dedicate one or a few of the newer ASICS to SmartCoin and it can be mitigated.

There are two versions that are used, such that the nodes are about evenly split between 0.9.1 and 0.11.3. The later one does not accept block headers below nVersion=3, which caused the main smartchain.cc node to lag behind since the bulk of the hash rate has been mining using the previous version with block headers that do not meet the standard. It looks like neither Cryptopia, Yobit, or Miningfield had upgraded to 0.11.3, so it is important to maintain compatibility with the initial version.

I set up a block explorer for version 0.9.1 at http://classic.smartchain.cc. It is currently syncing (slowly).

The network itself looks quite robust - there are 30+ connections to a wide range of different countries, and IP address info shows even places like the Rochester Institute of Technology running a node. (It's not a bad research project idea  Smiley )

Also, the hash rate has increased by about 2,000% compared to year ago, and the market cap has grown by about 3,000% during the same time.

Thanks for using SmartCoin, and for the feedback.

What are your plans? What are you going to do in a situation where your network is divided? I already lost more than 1000 coins because the old nodes outweighed the new nodes.

I can continue to support it for now, although I do recommend to keep most of crypto savings in a major currency like LTC or DOGE since it can be quite risky with the smaller ones.

Perhaps the 1000 coins may not be lost, since the 0.11.3 chain is technically better and maybe both should be running for now until it can be figured out how to update properly (exchanges + pools at once without lagging and having multiple chains).

How did you mine on the 0.11.3 chain? Is it solo mining with your own node, or there is a pool that uses the newer version out there?

Mining on the local unomp pool, daemon version 110300.

On Yobit? I sent a deposit when it had that status and it still went through. Now it says

Quote
Wallet status: Delayed (924353 blocks)

This is because of the hash rate fluctuation that causes lag in the blockchain, clearing within a day or two usually.

is the quantity of tokens limited?

The current code has the reward trailing off in the same way as Bitcoin, but there could be forks and changes. I would prefer something like Monero's 1% a year emission rather than a zero, which could be bad for the network.

The newer one isn't being mined while pools and exchanges use the prior one.. so it looks like it's better to stay with 90100 at this time.

On my side I have made a lot of progress. The hardware wallet is coming, which is likely to be branded as a "SmartCoin hardware wallet", and several engineers and other specialists are now part of the team. There are also other projects besides the hardware wallet.

In regards to SmartCoin the SMC token, I do not mind spending some resources working on it, and developments have been leading up to having a more serious opportunity to do so.
