Might be quite a simple question. I have 2 rigs that are run by AM from another machine, i.e. each rig runs an AM remote service. When remote service starts a mining process (ccminer in most cases), its console is not shown on screen, and I can't see the console in AM miner - it's just empty. Is is possible to have console starting on the remote machines to see what's going on with the currently running mining process?

Ok so updated to newest version this morning and all my CPU hash rates have dropped HUGE amounts.  I went from over 400 h/s on XMRig to under 100 and my computers all freeze.  

Anyone have an idea what is going on?

SOLVED   Ok so when I updated it did not stop the original XMRig on each system and when the AM interface started back up each rig was trying to run 2 XMRigs at same time.  Closed all and restarted XMRig from AM interface and all up and running perfect

Not sure if this makes sense so please advise if I'm not pointing to the right direction.

As I increase the number of rigs/GPUs, I see more rigs found in 'dead' state where I cannot issue soft 'reboot' command through AM. And this is not due to aggressive OC nor GPUs overheating. I understand that it's not AM's fault either. Seems to happen to one rig every couple of days when I wake up.

So in order to overcome this, I'm looking at watchdog (or similar) to hard reboot the machines. Eventually, I'll probably end up getting a watchdog built by the same person who built the SMOS but for now, since all rigs are all over my house, wired connection is not an option.

I bought couple of cheapo smart plugs that claim they are IFTTT compatible and I managed to get them to turn on and off using the webhook applet. I also managed to get them triggered via AM when the rigs are detected as 'offline'. It actually works well the first time it detects offline it but if it goes down again before I get a chance to clear the notification messages within AM, it no longer gets triggered.

This is what I did:

Trigger - (time interval : 5 mins) AND (detect offline, 120 secs)
Actions - (send webhook to turn switch off), (wait 30 secs), (send webhook to switch on), (notification)

For the last notification, I did turn off 'Notify once until acknowledged).

Am I doing this right?

EDIT: Looks like the overall approach is very similar but you used e-mail and I used webhook to trigger the smart plug's IFTTT actions.

Also, you used PING instead of myself using 'offline detection' which in my case was problematic. I'll try the ping approach instead.

And finally, you put 5 mins worth of 'wait' at the end which I think makes sense. That pretty much will guarantee that you give the rig enough time to boot and not catch the whole cycle again... Nice! I'll probably try less than 5 mins since my SSD setup barely takes 30 secs to boot...

Right click on the miner, then click view details... this will show you the list that the miner is going by based on the profit profile that specific miner is going by...



When you view online services, that list is just a list of all algo's you have checked under options... either you have 1 of 2 things happening..

1) you either have the algo disabled under the profit profile the profit miner is using for profit switching either under profit profile on the list of checked algo's to run on that profile or under managed software. The easiest way to determine if its software settings, look on the miner, find out which profit profile is linked to it, then go to tools, benchmarking... click the profit profile that miner is using and it will display every algo it can switch from and the software it will use. When a miner trys to profit switch, if its enabled but no software or pool available to use it will skip it during the calculations process...



2) you the mining speed saved wrong under that profit profile, when you setup a profit miner, you select a profit profile, that profit profile has its own speeds based on each algo that typically comes from benchmarking the system. If you skip this process and try to mine off default values, it may be seeing it as not the most profitable miner.

I do find settings for predefined pools but how to add custom pool and their profit info so that AM can efficiently switch between them.

The way you profit switch custom pools not pre-programed into the software is to add the pools for each algo you want to use, then assign a pool group and add all those pools under that pool group. Then you profit switch based on that pool group by selecting it under profit switching on options. This is how i get mine to work.

You need to use a managed miner to test out each pool you add to the pool group, i found that if one pool is not setup correctly it would confuse the miner and not work for some reason, so i had to test every pool i tried tell they all worked.

I profit switch SuprNova this way, i then use Gunbot in emergency sell mode to detect any deposits to my exchange account from any of those algo's im profit switching between, it checks all of them every 5 minutes and if it sees new coins to sell, it dumps them at last asking price tell the wallet is empty.

What is the best way to calculate the "profitability" of a coin not already predefined in AM?

I can see that you can use the API (either C% or HTTP) to update the values but are there any sensible ways to calculate this out in real-time?

Currently, I am using Google Sheet to update the earnings, so I can calculate this value based on the received earnings but I can't do this throughout the day...

This built-in miners need a serious upgrade.

I tested the built-in ccminer vs Excavator (1.4.2.a) on AHashPool and found that Excavator is faster as follows:


Blake2s      - 16% Faster
NeoScrypt  -  30% Faster


These figures are nothing to joke about when it comes to dollars.

I hope the author seriously considers at least upgrading to the latest Excavator. Otherwise we are all loosing money big time.

(Note: I was able to configure the latest Excavator to run with AM, it can start/stop/monitor it, but does not report any metrics). And profit switching of course does not work.

Sadly, while some excavator support was added as 'External Miner", its pretty pointless for using with Profit switching.

If anyone is using these algos with built-in miner, then they are literally throwing money down the toilet. I simply can't use AM with this situation.

Patrike the HTTP API coin setting is wonderful, thank you very much. I am making extensive use of it.

As another line item, can you please add the ability to create new coins via the API as well? The plugins I'm writing/hope to be distributing sorely need it.

Something along the lines of:

Glad to see the continual support and evolution of AM. You guys are doing a great job.

Any thoughts or ETA on better support for the Bitmain AntRouter R1LTC? I know its probably not a major in-demand thing, but we're having fun with these to speculate on various coins, and they're pretty neat units considering. I'd hope its not too much on your end to bring in full support.

Can anyone help getting the webserver to work remotely? Works fine on localhost, but not on other machines on the same network!

I see these errors in the log, which I suspect is the issue, but no idea how to fix it!

This is a permission failure, where Awesome Miner isn't allowed to listen to port 17790 for HTTP purposes. You could try to run Awesome Miner with Administrator privileges once, to see if it setup everything properly. Then you should be able to run it normally again.

I want to configure excavator and I added external miner excavator (latest) but I am undable to benchmark or start mining with excavator. Do you have any tutorial about how to configure the latest version of excavator ?
Why can't we use excavator with "managed profit miner" by adding excavator to "user defined mining software" and select compatibility "excavator latest" ?

Awesome Miner v4.4.1 included support for the latest Excavator software as an External Miner only. It was intended as a preview and the idea is of course to add it as a Managed Miner and for the profit switcher in the next release. I'm current working on this and I fully understand the importance of it.

Has anyone else gotten this working as external software? I've added it by following all of the steps in the documentation but when AwesomeMiner tries to run it the cmd prompt opens then closes right away. Bminer works correctly on this system if I run it on it's own.

Thanks for your feedback. This one is on my todo-list. After the Excavator mining software is fully supported (not finalized yet), the next mining software to support might very well be Bminer.

Could I create two miners and have one running overridden pool parameters and comand line parameters? Both would run at the same time.

Or could I have two miners running each the 12 cards but alternatively (let's say 1 hour each, for instance)?

You could run multiple miners on the same rig no problem, as well as have time based switching. I do both of these.

I see that and I have tried to change it. I'm doing a managed profit miner and it auto fills that. All I'm putting in is my login and worker and selecting usa. I have tried selecting other regions but that does not work either. Is there a place to edit that that I don't know about?
