Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

Yesterday I sent 73k+ HYP to Poloniex and it still has not shown up there. I asked on Poloniex and they told me make sure I was using the newest wallet (I am v1.1.0.1) and check the blockchain and transaction. At the time my wallet was telling me the transaction was in block 239010 and the most recent block on hyp.cryptocoinexplorer.com was about 23880, so I decided to wait to see if when it got to 239010 then maybe Poloniex's wallets would sync and the transaction would show up, but nope.

Also if I search for my TXID on hyp.cryptocoinexplorer.com it says it is not found.

What do I need to do? Is my HYP gone?

And now my wallet won't sync, it says there is 5 connections to network but is sitting at 112 blocks behind.

I have made backups and downloaded the bootstrap and have started resyncing, hopefully that helps something.

Block hash for 239010 on the correct fork is: 778feb8d0f66f5c5bceee85ac198f842f921c16535856db51ec449bc501e1973
It looks like your wallet is on the wrong fork. Your hash for block 239010 is different.

So we know you're not on the correct blockchain by that. I'm not sure if your HYP is lost or not. Hopefully not. I wonder if Polo has the old blockchain backed up before the fork where they could run it on a system and collect your 73K HYP on that end and simply return it to you. I'd check all of that before you upgrade. See presstab's response below.

Then you should upgrade to at least v1.1, sync up, double check you're on the right chain by going to the console and typing
Code:
getblockhash 239010
Verify with an explorer and then resend to Polo.

First step, take a deep breath and realize that you are on the wrong chain, so the coins are still owned by you on the correct chain Smiley Backup your wallet!

Second step, get in sync https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=678849.msg10475602#msg10475602 (also a new build was released last night v1.0.1.2, has some more refinements, but not mandatory. https://github.com/hyperstake/HyperStake/releases/tag/v1.1

Third step, go to debug console and type "strictincoming true". Once fully synced, click tools->repairwallet.

Fourth step, resend your transaction once your block height matches the block height of hyp.cryptocoinexplorer.com

Edit - thanks LiteBit for beating me to it.

-Always check and re-check your height with block explorer before making a transfer.
-Send a small amount 1st to make sure everything works as planned also on the exchange side.
Works for all alt coins and saves you a lot of headache.

I have updated the github release page with a new build of the wallet. It contains new checkpoints and ups the protocol version to 72001 from 72000.

I added two rpc commands:
strictprotocol
strictincoming

If you are having trouble with high CPU and other peers trying to give you wrong chain data, or requesting data continuously the use "strictincoming true"

If you still have more problems, you can try strictprotocol. Please do not use this unless you absolutely have to. It will drop your peer count low, and doesn't connect you to the main pool of peers.

https://github.com/hyperstake/HyperStake/releases/tag/v1.1
"strictincoming" is needed on my end and it works like a charm, cpu load is most of the time iddle.
But still often out of sync displayed so still many users on the wrong chain that get connected.
Maybe a more aggressive approach would be better ?
Simply ignoring/banning users that are on the wrong chain as it is done in some other projects.

Can you make these options work using command line and as conf options ?
Is update notification now active in latest versions or was it just a try out in one of the test build ?

Trololoh I included this, and I recommend you only use this rpc call if strictincoming is not doing the trick. "strictprotocol true"

And yes, alerts are active in all new wallet builds.

No deep breath necessary, I did not mean to sound panicked at all. I am not really worried about it, just a little annoyed that it happened, I should have tested it with a small transaction first.  Roll Eyes

I already had version 1.1.0.1, I have now downloaded 1.1.0.2 and I have it syncing and set "strictincoming true". When it fully syncs I will try the wallet repair and see what happens.

Thanks for the help presstab and LiteBit.

Hmm well this is getting more complicated real fast isn't it? You could try in the debug window "rescanfromblock 230000" that might help, but I am guessing not. The fail safe way to sync your wallet exactly with the blockchain is to reimport your privkey to a new wallet. Make sure your wallet is backed up, go to debug window and type "dumpprivkey yourHYPaddresshere" and copy your private key. Make sure never to share this with anyone else, or else your coins could be stolen.

Shut down your wallet. Go back to the appdata folder and name wallet.dat to walletold.dat.

Restart your client. You should have a fresh wallet with no balance. Go to debug, "importprivkey yourprivkeyhere". This will scan the entire chain for your key, and this could take a few minutes. After that, restart your wallet one more time and everything should be good to go.

repairwallet is supposed to prevent this procedure from being done, but looks like it couldn't fix it in your case.

I started doing this when I realized that I had copied my backup wallet.dat into the wrong folder so I really had never repaired my wallet. It is all fixed now, and I was able to send.

Thanks for the help.

My first clue that something was amiss this morning was when the network weight was less than 50,000 and a bunch of stuff wanted to stake rapidly.

I´m glad that I dug through the forums and learned about the hard-fork.  Grin

Today I downloaded bootstrap and before that I had around 300,000 Hyp. After I downloaded and I resync bootstrap wallet, I just 246,567 Hyp. So I had to do this operation staking thousands daily. On 16 February I received about 20,000 Hyp, but now after resync. last day of minting in wallet appears to be on 13. Can you explain me why this happens? Sorry for my poor english.

I have the same issue with the download, ended up with less then half of what I accumulated prior to it. This is not good. Were we on the wrong chain to begin with?  Sad Huh

You could have definitely staked a lot of coins while on the wrong fork. Anything you would have minted after 2/13/15 would not have carried over. You can double check the block explorer to make sure that your address contains the correct amount.
