is there a minimal example of how to send a transaction, perhaps in python?

Assume I have an address, public and private key, and an amount.
How do I create a signed transaction and broadcast?

https://github.com/brainwallet/brainwallet.github.io has a transaction creator.

Saying that you don't trust someone because of their behavior is completely valid.
