maybe this should go under speculation, but here t is
I think bitcoin world needs some kind of countdown page, for everyone to see when block reward is going to be halved with difficulty changes taken into account and all that
this could help the hype about its scarcity. It would be nice to see many sites link to it
I have seen the analogue clock, but something digital, with some text about the change.
P.S. it is really weird to see spelling checker warning in the word "bitcoin" especially on this forum

OK! Let's build it! Name some of the categories, like: Total coins in circulation; resting coins; #Pools; #Miners; Exchange rate (list all currencies); etc. Who can build this? I would pay for it.

Seconds from last block. Block count. Transactions since included in last block. Heck, a lot of the info from blockchain.info, but all displayed on one page like this with the numbers always changing. I think it would be awesome. And I've been contributing to too many different projects lately, but I would throw a few coins toward this as well. My intention was to pay for it fully out of my pocket, but would accept any donations (there is no address for this, so don't contribute). What I'll seek is a coder that can build it. I'll seek input from the community as to what it should consist of. ~Cackling Bear~ (damn you Matthew for giving me this Indian name!)

yesss btc statistics all in one place here are some stats http://bitcoinstats.org/basically all from http://www.bitcoinwatch.com/and there is a blue-ish site with mostly charts, it has days destroyed, total transaction volume and all that but this new site should focus on dynamic data, so that allways something is changing on the screen

if it is possible to have total number of nodes in the network, it sure would look nice top 21 addresses by size top 21 transactions of the last block average transaction size in the last block total number of transaction in last block time elapsed after last discovered block and name of the pool that mined it hourly % of the price change from the daily weighted average weekly monthly yearly total sum of all bids and asks on all exchanges combined

The total number of network nodes is a statistic that is possible to collect today but some day it won't be collectable because the developers made a change to Bitcoin's behavior. (New clients only advertise nodes that are able to receive incoming connections. It is a good change.) I'm going to have to take it off of BitcoinStats.org some day and I'm planning on replacing it with a count of the various user-agents that are used. Currently no website reports this (because only Bitcoin version 0.6 even uses it at all). For example, How many people are running Electrum? We have no idea.
Edit: After coding the necessary code and running a test for a few minutes, here is a sample of the user agents I'm seeing. This is the user agent in parenthesis followed by a colon, followed by a count of the number of this user agent I saw.
'.ljr2': 1, '/Satoshi:0.5.99/Eligius:3/': 1, '/bitcoin-qt:0.6.0/': 8, '/bitcoin-qt:0.5.99/': 5, '/Satoshi:0.6.0/': 27
I'm not sure what .ljr2 is but obviously LukeJr has something to do with it.

Now to make it more dynamic like http://www.usdebtclock.org/, but with a better looking site. Who's here is capable of building such a site and for approximately how much? ~Cackling Bear~
