Hi Everyone,

Yesterday I submitted the code to jl777 for integrating PAX into BitcoinDark.

He will be testing it over the next couple of weeks.

PAX = Pegged Asset Exchange, and yes, that's exactly what it is.  Wink

Matthew

interesting, approx when will this be launching live?

Of course, that's difficult to say.

We will need at least a couple of weeks for testing, making sure consensus is established and maintained on assets across the network. That has already been working in James' isolated testing, now it will have a real use case inside BitcoinDark.

After that, I think we'll open it up to some general testing on a testnet, until the edge cases are ironed out.

How does that work in really general terms?

Choose asset pair: BTCD/ [Gold/USD/Euro/Oil/whatever]
Lock the BTCD / chosen asset (I already implemented this with a simple rpc call)
Submit a redeem at some point in the future, you are then rewarded with X number of BTCD, depending on current price of asset.

Probably stupid question, but who would I be betting against? Other users or the "house"?

Hello,

is there any possibility to download the blockchain manually? I didnt find anything here or on the official website. The problem is the very slow synchronization through the wallet.

Look at your peers using the console command: getpeerinfo

Choose one of the peer's IP addresses and just for syncing only add it to your BitcoinDark.conf like this:

connect=xx.xxx.xx.xxx

Now your wallet will only connect to one peer and won't have to spend more of the time comparing blocks with all the other peers you connect with without that line. Once you sync, remove the line and run as you would normally.

Oh and today's BTCD payout on www.xpool.ca is 30+ BTCD!

Cheers!

Due to the low volume of orders in Polo, someone can easily manipulate price with sell small amount of BitcoinDark in Polo and with this work can create panic selling in Bittrex and then buy cheap BitcoinDark.
This is what happened in the last two days.
