The pattern of BTCD reminds me exactly of what XC did, comes out of nowhere, gains some interest, dev is discovered to be highly respected and competent, and it maintains its price even through the constant mining and dumping, and then POS hits and BOOM shoots up to a $15-20 million market cap in just days. Granted it all came tumbling down but this was mostly due to the fud from the Dark camp. People bought XC not on what features it had at the time but just based off what they knew it COULD be with Dan Metcalfe on board. This could do the same thing, especially now with the JLH777hodl asset thrown into the mix too.
As long as the community can help me with the testing, then it will speed up completion of all the cool features. So, we an all make BTCD a success, but it will take a lot of work. I am willing and able to put in the work, hopefully there will be half a dozen or so here who can also put the hard work of testing in.

I cant stress how important good testers are. They can make all the difference in the world. Not just finding bugs, but making improvement suggestions.

So, I dont want the everybody stands around waiting (and complaining) about the dev not being finished with everything yet. I got sidetracked with the whole poloniex JLH thing, it would be #33 on coinmarketcap now! So, kind of on an after allnighter second wind now.

Now there will be lots of FUD, but they can just look at https://github.com/jl777
I wrote 20,000+ lines of new C code since March, plus MGW is in the final stages of testing and that is the most secure crypto gateway ever made as it has three independent server operators and all balances are reconciled publicly every block. So there is 100% assurance that there is 100% backing for all deposits.

I have a team over in NXT land that helps out, but what I am working on is quite extensive and I look forward to getting a strong testing team here. I am still a long weekend away from alpha release, especially with some of the incompatibilities I've run into. But, if you want to get a head start, you can install NXT from nxt.org so at least you are familiar with that end of things. I will make it so that BTCD will inherit all the NXT features, probably a good idea to customize the HTML GUI and make it look all BTCD. So if there are any HTML5 guys here, we need you!

Imagine installing BTCD and getting all of the NXT features and cryptonote AND all of my proprietary services like InstantDEX and Privatebet. Also, everybody that will run a node will get revenue sharing. Not from mining revenues, but from InstantDEX trading commissions and Privatebet fees. So there is no cap to what can be earned. If there are strong marketing types, it would be cool to start planning how best to get lots of customers.

Anyway, as you can see I am not just a coder, but more a generalist. So I can always use help of specialists in any field.
My goal is to get BTCD to top 10 on coinmarketcap, actually I want it to go above DOGE.

James

Should we continue mining after 20,160 PoW blocks or spread hashrates to other coins?
To all PPLNS pools, the 20,160 block should be rewarded to the finder to celebrate this potential coin.
Happy mining all!

After PoW is done, you can still earn BTCD by moving your hashrate over to the multipool:

http://dark.xpool.ca

It's currently open for testing and all looks well. Just need a lot more hashrate is all.

Cheers!

Or a wallet built in exchange?

or just a wallet that works. I still can't connect like I said yesterday. without a working wallet, people will not hold this coin or give it any credibility.

Hi mate, don't just click and hope it run smoothly. You should read the first post carefully and pay attention at "BitcoinDark.conf".
BTW, if you don't want to miss last BTCD PoW blocks, just register an account at www.bittrex.com (don't forget Two Factor Authentication), create a BTCD wallet address there and join a suitable mining pool that point to your wallet address.
Cheers!

I had some problems with wallet not finding peers until I added:
addnode=146.185.188.6

What nodes are in your conf file?

I have that node. My "BitcoinDark.conf " file looks like this (ie: everything on page 1 plus some nodes that somebody posted yesterday):

rpcuser=user
rpcpassword=pass
rpcport=14632
port=14631
daemon=1
gen=1
server=1
addnode=107.170.59.196

addnode=107.170.148.50:14631
addnode=65.129.66.246:57762

also i checked my firewall. it's not blocking my wallet.

Congrats on that; I woke up to find it on Polo and wondered what was going on...looked around and I'm impressed.  You deserve that success!  All the more exciting to see a talented individual involved with BTCD who has innovated already.  Proof is in the pudding...(whatever that silly ism means anyway...)

That sounds like a whole lot of incredible.  If I can provide any testing capacity, I shall throw my hat in the ring.  I'm not really a coder so more qualified people may want to jump in but at the least I can be a 'better than nothing option'...Wink

Maybe at first when you connect your miners you will get some rejected share until the vardiff set a higher diff , the start diff is 128 and the max is 4096

Nice 0.90% rejects, that is the best so far, nice job

I have been getting 100% efficiency on the 2 pools i have tried but the hash rate is around 320 - 340 GHS instead of just over 360 GHS which my 2 Antminers  average. I'd rather have 99.1% efficiency and a accurate hash rate.

Is the pool you're on giving an accurate hash rate?  Which pool are you on? Do they payout for blocks found? One of my pools did not.

I really think this coin can pass DRK.

There will be a few dumps during the travel and some panic selling, but this coin can get there 100%

We have way less coins in circulation!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pe-yhsV-UbA

IMO I think the dev team behind this is also superior to all the other coins as well.

Does anyone want to discuss bounties yet?

Bounties from OP:

-Anonymous Transactions
-Wallets: Mac OSX, Linux and Android,
-Community development and assistance
-Faucets
-Games
-Network Tools (e.g. block explorer)
-Other (as new features are voted upon)

Potential additional bounties?:

- customize html in gui

How should I go about donating BTCD for bounties?

Are we using a pledge system, a single donation address, or separate donation addresses for each bounty?

guys is http://btcd.minerpools.com/ OK to keep mining?
I can't see the website online
It is online, but from time to time we get different DDOS attacks. That's why at that time the frontend was down, although the stratum has been working and finding blocks like crazy

yes i see your pool has found a lot of blocks compare to others. When do you pay out the block reward?

I ask because I did not get a payout for a block i found on a pool i mined with...and i found the block over 24 hrs ago.

Hi, bonuses are paid automatically, they're 0.001 BTCD per block found, you can check it out on your tx list. However, I'll check on your tx list. PLease P'm me your username so I can verify.

EDIT: Nevermind, I already found it and it shows you were paid the bonus. Please check your P'M, I just sent you the table showing your payments received.

Thx. Only 0.001 BTCD per block found?  Ouch. I was expecting 80 BTCD/block found. I guess I misunderstand how the block reward system works.

I have been reading back several pages. Many people are having problems getting the wallet to sync or connect. I have updated my conf file with the info listed over the past several pages. still no luck.

Please fix this. I want to be part of the BTCD club too...but i can't do so without a working wallet.

We're opening for testing. Limited # of coins to start with and we're open to suggestions on coins to add so long as they tend to be profitable.

BitcoinDark by xpool - BTCD Multipool

PROP reward system
BTCD Payouts
Scrypt & SHA256 & X11 Algo's
DDoS Protected
High Performance Backend
Simple setup and usage
0% Fees while in BETA
To mine:

How does it work?

xpool offers 3 different sets of coins to mine. SHA256, Scrypt and X11. Each algorithm runs on a shift. Currently there is no set interval as there needs to be enough found and confirmed blocks to make trading worthwhile on the exchanges. We don't want to finish a shift only to find out, the exchanges are going to eat up the payout in fees or limit the withdraw with a large minimum. The confirmed coins are traded throughout the duration of the shift automatically to maximize the profits from exchanging them into BTCD. Once enough confirmed blocked are accumulated, the shift is moved into "Trading" status while all the exchanged coins are calculated into BTCD and then queued for payment. Once all the coins are confirmed as successfully traded and exchanged, the BTCD payments are sent.

As the pool picks up more hashing speed and sufficient BTCD can be picked up from the exchanges, the shifts will be set to a schedule and payouts more frequent and less worry about the exchanges. This is a growing phase so the more hash support the better.
If a DRK block is found, there's no exchanging or loss of fees as it can simply be moved into the X11 payout queue.

The advantage of the pool is that you can utilize your older ASIC equipment to earn you the more desired BitcoinDark.
Cheers and Happy Hashing!

Donations welcome!

Any issues, please report them here or feel free to PM me, as I can't always see every post.

hmmm I think you got it wrong, I'll explain:

- Every block found is of 80 BTCD  and that's whats paid to the miners
- The block finder gets an additional 0.001 BTCD as a bonus, if take into account diff and the amount of people mining it, it's good to receive that bonus.
