Not as fancy looking as the BlackCoin USB wallet card  http://pic.twitter.com/G9bpg4v40e but a damn sight cheaper and wireless.  Imagine a situation where you have both this http://techcrunch.com/2014/08/08/swivelcard/ BTCD branded with a wallet loaded and the debit card.  Your out of town AFK and have a few coins on the swivel but no funds on your BTCD debit card or in your coinomat account.  Simple solution: go to a cybercafe and transfer funds from the swivel to coinomat and then load up the debit card and spent to your hearts content.

Food for thought.  Smiley

Hi Everyone - quick update on my progress,

jl777 and I have been working closely on integrating teleport functionality into BTCD core. I have nearly completed the work needed to integrate in all the upcoming features. As soon as James is finished with his work, we will have a Teleport-enabled BTCD core ready for testing!

The best part of this is, older nodes on the network will ignore all the new functions, so this will not even cause a hardfork  Smiley

If James is building the telepods, think of me as hard at work fitting the ships with the equipment allowing for those telepods to be smoothly locked into place.

We'll be beaming white bunnies around like crazy here pretty soon!  Grin

Thanks,
Matthew

Depends on the amounts. I like the coinomat approach where you can see the numbers daily http://coinomat.com/globalstat.php
So I hope to have something similar where you can see your accumulated dividends. Now there is a txfee to withdraw so maybe we make it so that each user decides when he wants to receive it by paying the transfer fee.

I guess this would be on-demand dividends?

Anyway, we need to build up the network, activity, etc. so there are revenues to become dividends first
As soon as there are meaningful amounts of earnings, then I will prioritize getting a way for people to collect them
This is one of those housekeeping things that is not difficult, just takes a little time

is there a guide to setting up a privacy server?
privacyServer will be built into the wallet. So install wallet, you have a privacyServer at 127.0.0.1
However if at home it probably will only work for your node and also not be shielding your IP address, so I would call this personal level privacy
To get corporate level privacy you would need to install BitcoinDarkd on a server (VPS)

maybe there will be some tweaks to the config file needed to specify your public address and some things like that, but I want to make it so that if you can install BitcoinDarkd, you can install privacyServer, since they are going to be bundled together.

The BTCD dev team is hiring for the GUI wallet Smiley

I am no coder, but if anyone reading is interested:

https://coinality.com/jobs/create-modified-version-of-the-btcd-bitcoindark-qt-wallet-elance-job/

Job Description

We need a modified version of the BTCD (Bitcoindark) qt-wallet. My friend James is working on a technology called “Teleport” that allows anonymous transactions that leave no trace in the blockchain.

The things that the GUI needs to do is:
1. Establish connection with a privacyServer (just needs IP, and NXT acct password)
2. Manage Telepods (You need to have a changepod and some unitpods, so requesting a changepod from faucet, creating unitpods)
3. Transporter function to teleport to specific destination
4. Publish public addresses so other people can do number 3 themselves. (I want to support having BTCD, NXT and BTC public addresses)
5. Display NXT address that is linked to a BTCD address (I will make it so that BTCD address’es privatekey is NXT password, so the two addresses are linked)

EDIT: I just found this on Elance.com

So will this be a fully integrated BTCD-NXT client, which will hold balances for both, and include teleport functionality but also NXT's features (Asset Exchange, MGW if desired, DGS)?

James - possible solution to speed up sending/aging pods in early stages might be for recipients to send change back? Perhaps this is what you had in mind with each user stocking a few unitpods though. Anonymity wouldn't be an issue if they'd purchased them from a reputable telepod vendor in the first place, rather than made them themselves.

Perhaps this is what you had in mind with each user stocking a few unitpods though. Anonymity wouldn't be an issue if they'd purchased them from a reputable telepod vendor in the first place, rather than made them themselves.
There will be two GUI, one is current BTCD qt wallet, it will have a button that opens up a web browser (automatically logs in) and you will get a reskinned NXT GUI with all the NXT features and all the NXTservices features. Of course the latter will be taking time to properly integrate all the NXTservices features and all this will be using the "Nxt Inside" approach.

Think Dell computer using Intel Inside. BTCD is to Dell (or Apple!) as Nxt is to Intel CPU

I am not a GUI expert, but I imagine that a properly designed reskinning would make it a very BTCD user experience, but with access to all the NXT features

I am making some BTCD core changes to solve the change issue. So I am not so worried about this for teleporting BTCD. Once BTCD starts trading on Chinese exchange, then as long as you are outside of China, just fund the transporter acct with a direct withdraw to the transporter address. If you are in China, use a non-Chinese exchange preferably with a country not so friendly so there are problems with obtaining brokerage records.

Eventually there will be autonomous telepod vendors that are basically special purpose tradebots, but for the beginning I think using the exchange withdraw method will get enough liquidity of tradepods. Once there is, then you just need to buy them via InstantDEX and it will continue to circulate in the dark

No, no typo.  A lot of things in the pipeline that need to be funded.  For example, James is asking for 2 GUI guys, which in total will require approximately 1500 BTCD.  All payments will be posted on the new website, so the community can see exactly where their donations are going.

If you take issue with this, please make your suggestions known.

I have the job ad on odesk, elance and freelancer.com now, no luck so far. When there are no applications tomorrow we'll have to look at other places too.

I am interested in possibly working on this for you.

Are you talking about modifying existing wallet code, or are you talking about a whole new web based wallet that sort of reverse engineers the current one? That said, I am also only available part time.
