Our plan is to do basically what jl777 did with Bitcoindark

We will try to get on the supernetwork from jl777 which we should be able to accomplish once the new features are released

This just in from Cryptsy support after I kindly pointed out that members of the BTCD community were planning a mass exodus from their exchange...

Hello Paul,

Your BTCD withdrawal transaction has been escalated
to our tier two team for them to investigate and credit your withdrawal. Please allow
some time for them to do so. Rest assure your coins are safe and will be credited
asap.
Thank you for your patience and have a great weekend!

Thankfully BTC withdrawals are working fine Wink

Are you sure?  I don't recall it being anything other than 0.01 BTCD (which is still excessive IMO)

I cannot debug Teleport/SuperNET and run the mgwBTCD at the same time
I will try to minimize the downtime, but it is too much stress to be maintaining the production BTCD while needing to debug and running out of RAM, etc.

So, give me a couple days, your BTCD is safe, but the MGW for BTCD will probably not be very responsive for a bit

I have a problem with the BTCD wallet and hope someone here can help me.   It's been working fine until this morning when I tried to send two deposits to my Poloniex address.  They never arrived, and although the wallet has transaction ids for them both neither show up on the block chain explorer.  The deposit address shows all transactions except these two.  The wallet shows 35 confirmations for one and 50 something for the other and it seems to be stuck there.  Does anyone know what has caused and how it can be corrected?   Thanks.

Think you might be on a fork. keep wallet.dat and the .conf file then delete everything else. Let it resync and it should be fine.

same problem as described by pandionrain  - wallet working no problem until a few hours ago when I did a couple of transactions out - one to bter (24 confirmations) and one to bittrex (10 confirmations), neither of which have arrived.

The wallet keeps trying to sync but gets stuck on block 100621

Yet I'm still receiving mining payments - one came in just now as I was typing this.

can someone post a very simple, step by step, idiot proof guide to what I need to do to get my wallet up to date and working again?

Also: is it possible to move the amount currently being staked (which is most of my coins) back to 'spendable', so I don't run the risk of losing them as and when I do get the wallet up to date?

Many thanks for any help

1: check wallet version. open wallet click help click about BitcoinDark latest version v1.0.0.0-g32a928e.If you have this then step 2 if not page 1 of this thread and download it

2: Open C:\Users\"your user name here "\AppData\Roaming\BitcoinDark    Backup wallet.dat to safe location then delete all files and sub folders except the wallet and config files. If you haven't got config it's on page 1
of this thread

3: run wallet it should now download blockchain. You will see all of your transactions but no balance, the balance will change as wallet syncs

Hi Jon,

Many thanks for your reply.

Just to make sure I don't do anything wrong, the files I can see when I Open C:\Users\"your user name here "\AppData\Roaming\BitcoinDark
are:

-----------------------
datebase
txleveldb
.lock
blk.0001dat
db
debug
peers.dat
wallet.dat
----------------------

I will delete all the above except the wallet.dat file - which I'll back up in case anything goes wrong

As you can see, there's no config file shown. How do I incorporate (for want of a better word)  the BitcoinDark.conf Code which appears on the op?

When I'm ready to run the wallet, what will I need to click on to make that happen?

There are idiots and then there are idiots  Smiley

You are not an idiot, a lot have had the same problem. The OP should be changed to reflect the following procedure:

1) download new wallet.

2 ) back up old wallet.

3) windows start menu type %appdata%  this brings up your roaming folder.

4) navigate to bitcoindark folder

5) make new folder in here called backup, copy all contents of folder here. use this to restore original files if things go wrong.

6) delete everything except wallet.dat and your backup folder.

7) right click, create new text document.

Cool paste node info from OP

9) save as ...  switch choice from "text file" to "all files"   bitcoindark.conf

10) go to new wallet download

11) unrar and click on wallet to open. it assembles the missing files in your appdata folder.

12) make a cup of coffee, wait for wallet to sync blockchain

If I have missed anything here, others feel free to jump in.

If you have a working older wallet and are worried about trying to fix something that isn't broken, is there a reason you should not:

1) Backup your wallet.dat file. (Obviously, there is no reason to do this again because everyone here is smart and already has multiple backups. Right?)

2) Download and un-rar the new wallet from OP in a different location, leaving the existing wallet as it is (though not running).

3) Copy wallet.dat to relevant folder for new download. Maybe play games with .conf, not sure.

4) Run new download. Check it is working. Only then delete old one.

Edit: looks like the different versions would still use the same Roaming folder?

Yes it will use the same folder. So if you want to do it rename the roaming folder then make a new folder with the same name. Copy the wallet.dat and conf file to the new folder then run the new exe.

Thanks. I think I will stick with my working 5.3.0 until otherwise recommended. Smiley
Incidentally, this is one of the entry barriers to crypto. Almost no one would have the patience for all this. I have high hopes for the SuperWallet, but a SuperWeb site will probably be required for mass adoption, along the lines of NXT's secureae site. Or better, a mobile SuperApp.
I'm guessing James has thought about these already Smiley

Thanks for the replies - I'm in the process of following the above.

Just a point of clarification before I go any further:

I've made a back up folder containing everything that is in the Bitcoindark Roaming folder. Here's the list of items.

-----------------------
database
txleveldb
.lock
blk.0001dat
db.log
debug.log
peers.dat
wallet.dat
----------------------

I've unchecked 'Hide extensions for known files types' and checked ' Show hidden files, folders, and drives', as per the advice here:
http://bitcoindark.pw/how-do-i-re-download-the-blockchain/

Unless anyone tells me differently, I'll assume that the above list of items is therefore complete and correct.

I'll wait a while for any replies before going to step 6 on torshammer's list.

Thanks again  Smiley
