No I haven't tried yet. I've been amazingly busy. It would help if someone were to point me to the commit that broke it in the first place.

The mobile dev didnt upgrade to the auxpow fork, that's why it doesnt work.

Do you remember the approximate date?

Edit: found it on the timeline: 22nd December 2014

Edit 2: this looks like the big daddy: https://github.com/viacoin/viacoin/commit/e52820f6e61c9fe14a2d4e8a495d15a32da58a9a

By the way, the mobile wallet is written in Java, which means the entire auxpow commit and the followup bug fixes will have to be ported to Java.

Also try contacting user esotericizm, he's here on BCT. He just ignores my PMs for some reason, but he's active. Maybe he'll respond to someone else and give control over the repo/google play account?

The mobile wallet repo is here https://github.com/esotericizm/viacoin-wallet

If I can get to this in any finite amount of time, I'll just fork the repo and then rebrand the wallet for google play.

Nice one! FYI viacoinj is here: https://github.com/viacoin/viacoinj I'll give you push access. I think it's important to have a central place for viacoinj so other projects can benefit from it later on. What's your github username?

No, just upgrade now, before the fork and you'll be fine. You dont need to delete or uninstall, but you should always back up your wallet.dat first.

ISO compliant currency code?

"X" currencies are used for "supranational" currencies, that is currencies not associated with any country, and "X" is used instead of two letter country code.
take for example Bitcoin (which you know as BTC): it has "X" ISO code assigned - which is XBT (cannot start with BT because BT is reserved country code for Bhutan and also Bitcoin is supranational currency therefore starts with X) and is already used - for example financial exchange rate news do not list Bitcoin in BTC but in XBT

this has to be done eventually, once financial institutions and business start using cryptocurrency (such as currency exchange rates published in news, banks, price tickers, airline/train tickets, etc), they are going to use ISO compliant codes whether you like it or not.

proposed viacoin x currency code:

1. XVC - ISO compliant (X + ViaCoin)

i'd recommend to not hesitate and prolong this too much because there's a limit on currency code availability
(seeing its "X + two letters" thats about 600 possible variations).

sources for reading about ISO currency code standards:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_4217
http://www.iso.org/iso/home/standards/currency_codes.htm

nice recommendation, although not an easy task by the looks of it... some discussion here on btc ISO currency code  list https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=123600.0

yeah, official ISO validation is not easy
easy to start somewhere - community consensus on currency code in wallet, exchange listings, etc

imo the only person who really lost was the one with all those ask walls that were bought up for chump change :p
a week ago there was like 1.3m ask side and now its down to 700k
if someone wanted to buy 300k+ really cheap without moving market that was the time
try buying 300k now and see how high you have to buy up.
well got 100k for like 1700 sats so i'm not complaining Grin

makes sense we already have xch

+1 - there's also much noise on twitter search for the term $VIA not forgetting to mention XVC sounds cool.

You cannot be saying that you got 100,000 VIA at an average price of 0.000000000017 because that would be utter bulls**t. Please can you clarify?
