VIA will have Segiwt before LTC? Smiley

or will it be Sys? Smiley if merged mining is desired for VIA then I think the larger issue will be to introduce to a pool that supports the upgraded stratum. Rebasing to btc 0.13.1 is the easy part.
The hard part is the rebase with merged mining. So merged mining is the hard part.
Introducing to pools might be easier. I'm pretty sure.. Almost know for a fact that they are ok with Segwit for Viacoin. I heard good things about 2fa pool owner and him being and I quote "a chill guy". However I would chill too with a couple mil
Which pools for bitcoin are mergemining and are segwit compatible do you know?

Merge mining is actually quite easy implementation. The version bits is the trickiest part about that but no more than a few hours. That is good... i mean there are only a handful of pools for bitcoin so being on them would be a good thing for security of your network.

via uses scrypt algo (just like ltc)

so pool ops can test their segwits in order
1. upgrade and test via pool, if it works
2. upgrade and test ltc pool, if it works
3. upgrade btc pool :p

just like for example bip65 (CheckLockTimeVerify) was first tested on via, then went live on btc

  tips will be spent on ale and ladies of questionable character Grin
The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Ahh so an LTC pool needs to pick it up.. gotcha.. i guess ltc doesnt need segwit enabled to be able to test via on it just that the stratum code is updated to support it.

Any pool where you can mine LTC & signal Segwit I guess.
I run a mining pool too (since few months ago).

Give me a day or 2 and I can make mine Segwit compatible & test it.

Questions about xch into the xch Ann.
XCP questions don't get asked in a Bitcoin room.

I'm asking about a Via wallet in the Via thread. VIA is the blockchain that supports clearing house of which XCH is the native currency. I'm not sure why you think this is off topic.

Yeah this also applies to XCP. It is off topic.
But alright, follow the instructions https://github.com/ClearingHouse/clearinghoused

Hmmm it's possible to instead of upgrading to 0.13.1 just directly to 0.13.2 which would be better.
It's just a little extra effort.

just like the best time to invest in bitcoin was like 6 years ago :p

you will have to decide for yourself, do some research,
take a look at roadmap, whats already done, whats being worked on
and what will be worked on in the near future, planned features are very real.
developer team is pretty active and open about the plans for viacoin

Easy !
Almost at 0.13.2
Solving conflicts can be some effort but so many updates !
... Missing that "verified" symbol because I was working in another branch to experiment.. didn't take my GPG key with the rebase.
I will try from now on to have my GPG key with the next rebases to have that verified logo. (Not that it matters much, call it professional or just autism)

Glad this upgrade from 0.13.1 to 0.13.2 is relatively easy with some git/github skills.

* oh cool I'm now an sr.member on btct. I started with a newbie account from 2014 (never posted anything before VIA)

Works, I can verify my commits with my PGP keys. Now it shows "Verified" again.
Anyways I  Pushed some Extra commits. The 2 commits contain a lot of fixes !

I look forward to the release!
It's going well, soon Viacoin will be on 0.13.2.
That should make auxpow a bit more easier.

I might have to hire a dev specialized in auxpow

Most of you know I am working on 0.13.2 but maybe some sharp people have seen I pushed like 35 commits in the past 3. days to the official Viacoin master branch. (4 commits 2 days ago, 28 commits yesterday and 1 commit today)
Before releasing 0.13.2 There are some bugs that needs to be fixed in the current version. I will contact Poloniex, Bittrex & other mining pools later.
Right now I am compiling the windows and Linux binaries for the new version that fixes some bugs and also some package updates that should make a more stable version.

I will let the windows version be tested by some people.
I also hope to gain a bit more trust by the people who are just watching from the side line  Smiley
The new version will be Viacoin Core 0.10.10
Viacoin Core 0.13.2 will be released after Merge mining is completed.
