If Yes - By how much?

Or if you think that tainted coins are worth more like from MtGox hack, SilkRoad bust, etc.

Discuss!

I wouldn't! There has only been one instance that tainted coins were not accepted as readily as "clean" coins, and that was by Gox right after the multitude of exchange hacks in 2011.

How do I know my coins are tainted or not? What makes them tainted?
If there is no list of tainted coins, no one would pay more for something less.

In the Gox hack case, the stolen coins were black listed. Though, they have likely been mixed in well enough by now.

You can only go through the blockchain to see where your coins have been. Cross reference those addresses with known addy's of a theft of some sort.

Really, it doesn't matter because they are all the same.

I can try to do a taint analysis, but it'd take a lot of backtracing. Really, you might as well not care about mixing the coins. Nobody cares if your coins have a little digital coke residue on them.

what is the point of that. ? instead of paying low better not buy a tainted coin like if you know that you are dealing with a hacker/scammer and the coin s(he's) selling are tainted better cancel the deal. but hackers/scammers aren't that stupid they can use services like bitmixer to get fresh coins in place of their tainted coins.
So absolutely no point of treating tainted coins any different.

It seems to me that your mind is stuck thinking that a Bitcoin is an actual physical entity, other than a unit of account in an algorithmic protocol.....

......but u aren't that dumb, right?

U were just being ironic of course!

Anyone who will take less for their tainted coins let me know.

Or who pays more for 'clean' ones.....

Bitfinex victims. DO NOT TOUCH THE BFX TOKEN! Start moving it around, or trading it, and you will be construed as having accepted it as an alternative means of payment to your USD, BTC, etc.

I haven't had any issues with people accepting my BTC, so I'd rather not pay more than they are worth. If you are selling tainted coins cheap, PM me and I will buy some.

No. It is very easy to mix your coins in a mixer or via an exchange that can erase any taint related to any controversy.

And once the btc goes to prices like 10k or so, the number of small btc tx like .001 or less will be so huge that it will not be possible to keep the trace.

I wouldn't. After all, a coin is a coin is a coin.

However, I think I might be willing to pay a bit extra for a coin that has a special place in Bitcoin's history. For example, a coin that Satoshi once owned, or a coin that was part of the last 50 BTC block, or a coin that was once part of the 20,000 BTC that was traded for the two pizzas, etc.

Some people are already paying a bit extra for mixed coins so they cannot be identified, not because they fear holding "tainted" coins.

that is dumb. They can easily mix the coins themselves with bit mixer.io or they could simply deposit the coins on an exchange then withdraw them a day later to get new coins

I am not questioning their purpose or intellect, only stating that some people would pay a fee to mix coins, so they are in fact paying more to get "clean" coins. I personally will not.

No, I'd never prefer one coin over the other. If we really start to do that we effectively hurt bitcoins fungibility, meaning that every coin is as valuable as every other coin of the same currency and denomination. If that happens, bitcoin would start to lose its value dramatically.

What is the difference? I dont see this being an option. Some that are associated with internet crime or laundering would just use a mixer service, and is there really a way to tell if one's coins are "tainted".
