I need some advice please:

I had my Faircoin Wallet in my old laptop which broke a while ago, but i did save the wallet into an usb stick.

The problem is that i didn't backup the wallet and now that i have a new laptop when i ran the wallet for the first time it shows zero coins and i have a new address, which means it is a brand new wallet.

Is there anything i can do to solve this problem?

i don't understand if you saved or not a backup of your wallet.dat on usb stick 


maybe the Hard Drive of the old laptop still works, you can try to remove it with care and buy for few bucks a hdd 2,5" usb box and recover the wallet.dat

Yes the Hard Drive still works, and it is in an external box right now, but when i plugged it into the new computer and try to open the old wallet ... well the new one shows up.

I found the wallet.dat file, i just can't open it as i don't seem to have the right application, what should i use to open it on a Macbook please?

install the mac wallet https://chain.fair-coin.org/download/FairCoin-v1.5.2.dmg wait for the sync and then :

hit shift + ⌘ (command) + G which will GO to a folder, then past, this location: ~/Library/Application Support/FairCoin  and replace the present wallet.dat with your backup.
