The Slimcoin dev and the community have been working together for the last six months to try and shake the bugs out of the implementation. Would have been premature to concentrate on marketing before the functionality was proven stable.

's got a good hook though - mine it in on a Raspberry Pi. I'm not sure whether Slimcoin will progress much further. It's put quite a strain on the dev; unstable network = many moaning and to cap it all, the seed nodes went offline while he was on family holiday and when they came back up, they staked before they could sync the blockchain, causing forks

I mean, it's gotta be tough, being on the sharp end of everyone else's self-interested expectations. People can get a bit over-focussed at times and can lose touch with the experimental nature of this entire cryptocurrency domain.

The language is Utilized technical and at the same time easy to understand, very well explained.

I think idea of this coin is amazing (if it will actually work, and for now I can't see why it won't). I feel SPR have very good future long term, if only SPR take this place and not one of it unavoidable clones. Only one thing truly matter in cryptocurrency - reliability. Not energy consumption. Not anonymity.

Now we have not only PoW, but also PoS and PoBurn and maybe something more (*). But just for classic pure PoW 'pool impossibility' is great step forward. For SPR I feel like it's bitcoin on it's first steps.

*and actually, we must merge at least PoW and PoS security methods in one coin - not in the way PPC etc. do it - they only temporarily use PoW and will be pure PoS eventually. For example, blockchain will accept PoW block only after PoS block and vice versa. Maybe such coins already exist, I don't know.

There seems to be quite a few early adopters. If you want a great future for SpreadCoin I suggest you to promote it. It is not hard, I already started but the more people will do it the bigger will be the effect. What can you do?
1. Write about SpreadCoin in chatboxes on exchanges.
2. Tell people about SpreadCoin in any other way you can (IRC, other forums, tell your friends, etc).
3. Ask exchanges to list SpreadCoin.
4. Any other ways you can think of.

We may also want to make a giveaway although we probably need to add SpreadCoin to exchange first. I'm ok with donating large amount (10000 SPR) for giveaway. Is there anyone else who wants to donate money for giveaway.

If more of us do ask for spreadcoin to be added on both askcoin and cpucoinlist i guess it's a good start towards attracting more people.

No and I don't think it is possible for PoW currencies to be resistant to botnets simply by modifying algo. Botnet nodes can be made to look just like regular nodes and be indistinguishable from them. To be resistant to botnets we need more miners and more hashing power.

OTH, since there are no pools to connect to, either each node on the bot net would have to have its own wallet and keep sending the funds to some main address every once in a while, or it would connect to a central server that could be easilly cheated in the same way as we cheat the pools. My guess is, it will not be cost effective to use spreadcoin on botnets.
