When are you going to add ghostbook to the scam list? The guy just stopped posting in the forums and basically I don't think the website even exists anymore, it is shutdown, even though it was only available on TOR , you can't access it anymore
Thanks. They are added.

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

In case of concerns of the Coinbase situation and fears of FBAR non-reporting by btc bettors:

Published on June 5, 2014

http://www.forbes.com/sites/kellyphillipserb/2014/06/30/irs-says-bitcoin-not-reportable-on-fbar-for-now/#71e22610133b

http://www.forbes.com/sites/kellyphillipserb/2015/01/11/dont-forget-bitcoin-at-tax-time/#7a7496637b73

Afaik and likewise an EA I consulted, the above is unchanged, so no problem if one did not do an FBAR report for 2013 and 2014.

But no one should ever use Coinbase as a wallet.

"Coinbase Review: 6 Controversial Issues You Have to Be Aware Of"

"Bottom Line: Should You Use Coinbase?

At times, it appears that Coinbase is more in the business of attracting investors than servicing clients or wisely developing Bitcoin. Given the foregoing, it’s impossible to recommend Coinbase without some caveats:

You should never rely on Coinbase to act as your wallet..."

And not only for the security issues the article mentions but because they will close one's account if they suspect or detect that one is making gambling transactions.

I've always been disturbed that a company which has the following stats:

can't afford or doesn't care enough to offer even half decent customer service including at the least live chat (they did for a short time have a half assed version of live chat during a part of the day).

Cs at Coinbase has always been rock bottom. Likewise their FAQs.
I've always felt that it was almost a point of honor with them that they gave the absolute minimum of helpful information and explanation.

Does anyone reading this have a bank or a credit card company which does not offer 24/7 telephone service?
Coinbase has never had consistent Live Chat and when they attempted it briefly it rarely was available, and they've never had phone cs.

When I've emailed questions it's apparent that the person answering often has only glanced at the first sentence or the title of the email to them and it's necessary to go back and forth a few times to get a partial answer.

They're also deceptive re: their insurance.
Their hot wallet is insured, not their cold storage where about 95% of customer's coins are stored.

Really a wretched company in numerous ways.

There haven't been any problems to date. They are new so no rating has been put up yet. There is an affiliation between 1x-bit and 1x-bet. There have been some problems at 1x-bet.

That's the problem for people living in the USA - finding an alternative.

Circle just dropped their btc business.

The 99bitcoins.com article I posted above lists some alternatives at the end of the article:

"Don’t use Coinbase if you intend to use your bitcoins for anything 'naughty.' To avoid future legal entanglements, your best option a decentralised exchange, such as LocalBitcoins or Mycelium Local Trader."

There's also a link to click on: "Find the best exchange to buy Bitcoins", which also lists
LocalBitcoins

VirWoX

BTCe

I'll be looking into these.

sportsbet.io free rolled me.

I place a live wager for 1st half of oakland vs houston and I took houston +0.5 for first half. After 1st half my wager grade as a loss. I asked customer service for help and they said the sportsbook manager said I lay the point on houston -0.5 and that not true. You all could see in "bet details" I wager team 2 (houston texans) @ +0.5 at the odds of 1.85 and sportsbet.io concluded that I lay the point on houston -0.5

Hi bitcoin_stealer,

Regarding your bet, when no team is displayed and only the players choice of outcome the handicap value always refers to the home team so if the handicap value is 0.5 it means that the home team has a 0.5 point/goal handicap and the away team a -0.5 point/goal handicap.

If the handicap value is -0.5 it means the home team has -0.5 point/goal handicap and the away team a 0.5 point/goal handicap, (0.5 is the same as +0.5)

Cheers,
sportsbet.io

Hi Sportsbet, can you take a look at this ticket. I won 1st period and it graded as a loss. I followed your advise and end up having an issue.
