Where are people getting these nice small racks for home miners? I could definitely use one!
Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

Here in the US, I'll bet that's a $20-30 item at Target, a major retailer. I don't think they anything special.

+1. you can get some pretty decent metal shelving units with wood/fiber panel surfaces and a 400-800 pound capacity for $40-60

life is WAYY easier when you have almost 20sqft of surface to hold heavy units or lots of power supplies.

24" PCI-E cables with 16AWG wires and stripped ends - great for server PSU mods, best prices https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563461

If you check on this thread : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=907219.280

You will see you need Delta AFB1212SHE

Push pull setup with 2 delta is perfect.

Cheer

Valkir

Those Delta's spec at 53dB. I wonder if two Noctua's are more quiet than those two Delta's. I'm running two Noctua's 3000's and they are around 2250 rpm and are pretty quiet. I do have a sound meter to test with later when I have time.

posted this before but what the heck...I added a 2nd Titan I got on a deal.....they will soon to be doorstops anyway....the end of home mining is at hand (alas it was fun and as you
can see I have the setup) ....will go back to the workbench when that happens I guess

This setup is 2 KNC no roi no refund Titans ..they are POW/Scrypt miners..currently 650.1mh on www.litecoinpool.org ...got a great deal on
the 2nd one ..the 1st one ...er not so much took a bath....live and learn...the box on 2nd shelf is my retired knc Jupiter 550gh unit......

the full link to the whole setup is below for those who want to look in detail

http://lostgonzo.imgur.com/

Only other thing of note is notice the laptops running putty on unbuntu 14.02 (best they can run....... former can' t upgrade beyond XP units laying around) ..running putty.exe
they work great..free is always better for this stuff.....pretty slick setup imho...too bad home mining is dead....doorstops someday they will be

anyway so it goes

Old Style Legacy Plug & Play BBS System. Get it from www.synchro.net. Updated 1/1/2021. It also works with Windows 10 and likely 11 and allows 16 bit DOS game doors on the same Win 10 Machine in Multi-Node! Five Minute Install! Look it over it uninstalls just as fast, if you simply want to look it over. Freeware! Full BBS System! It is a frigging hoot!:)

So, what are temps in what appears to be your "mining cave"? With all that gear, I'll bet it gets plenty warm, no?

BTC     BTC     BTC     Acid Alchamys Bitcoin Mining Expansion     BTC     BTC     BTC

So this is my image story of my Bitcoin Mining Expansion, from mining at home, to another residence; to finally putting all my miners in to the Data Center.
Hope you enjoy and I'll try my best to update it as I go along.

At this point, I had 1 S1 on a CX600 Corsair PSU, instantly I knew it was time to upgrade again.

So I bought some fans to cut the noise out; and some nice PSU's for future expansion.

Corsair Fans front and back

Getting a bit creative with push and pulls through fans.

Then came the S3's

Cheers! To a small at home farm..but it wasnt enough...

So after Girlfriend not being to happy with the heat from the office..it was time to relocate the miners. The 3 S1's are in another room.

My first S4.

Tried out some new hardware...wasnt pleased Sad

So now...I moved into the Data Center

The S4's

I wasn't going to give up on the S1's <3 but I did purchase some S5's

Saw the 15x SP20 deal from Spondoolies, figured; Why not buy some?

240 Tons of AC and all our racks are APC, used old Fiber boxes to hold my PSU's

I currently rent a nice amount of hash for the sake of the pool; and am also currently hoarding Bitcoin until some new gear comes out.

So, what are temps in what appears to be your "mining cave"? With all that gear, I'll bet it gets plenty warm, no?

well it is winter here but yeah I'm gonna have to put some attic gable fans with thermostats on plywood over the couple windows above the workbench and open all the screened windows in the basement and push heat out and pull air in....so far it has saved me $35 bucks a month on budget on gas heat over last winter on the boiler furnace ...they make 'dandy' space heaters heh Smiley

will have to use shutters on the outside of the fans probably also and just plywood in the rest of the window for insects etc....a pain but doable already have outlets up there ...probably around may 2015 or before to be safe

these knc units seem to run better a little hot...so if it is 90F outside it is 80F inside .....which they will be OK at....but yeah the basement helps this a lot and it won't get so hot
that I will have to shut them down..not in upper Midwest USA anyway

toys .....sheesh....but again too bad home miners are dead.....I"m now set to go......but anyway ..can always go back to a workbench (with 3 220v separate circuits.....probably won't need that as a workbench)

holy shizzle, you're insane and addicted as I was.... maybe worse!

the key here is .... WAS ..... home mining is DEAD I'm just running it out to doorstop status......notice the 'retired' knc 550gh jupiter now acting as a 'paperweight' to hold
the miner bench down on the bottom shelf? ..but as I said before they WILL make 'dandy' combination doorstops and space heaters...you 'betcha' Smiley

how are the af120 fans, besides blingbling?

af120's were nice. Super quiet; nice air flow, would use 8-10 Fans and couldnt really hear them at all. Now I have some of them rigged on my desk through front I/O port of PC so they face me, nice cool breeze while I sit at PC and again, very quiet.

My main concern when switching the fans was the temp changing a lot on the S1's but they only went up 1-2'C which I was fine with considering the substantial amount of sound reduction that came from the swap.

watch out with the airflow directed to your body! had a pc under table few years back and it gave me pain in the legs, so i rearranged to have 0 airflow to my legs
directed to the face i can think of conjunctivitis, otitis...
really bad for human health!
