Cool roadmap guys!

Indeed, seems like you are going to be busy this year.

Cheers!

Maybe I should code a Tipping bot, instead of these well-known DDos bots. I would tip your Wallets until these were overloaded.

Many thanks for the compliments on the roadmap. I do feel it is an achievable path for Sterlingcoin to regain, perhaps exceed, its past position in the ranks.

In regards to the current milestone mapped out before us, Sterlingcoin v1.6 is progressing very nicely. Ever effort is being made to release it this weekend. I have been working on it very, very diligently the past week or more and I am very pleased with the results. I certainly hope the community will soon be in agreeance with me when I say, it is a thing of beauty. I hope it is well-received that I wish to make that a surprise. Of course and as you know, replacing the alert and checkpoint server keys was the primary objectives, but I have seized the opportunity to give us a reliably functional wallet that we can be proud of.

Forward, Sterlingcoiners. Forward.

Sterlingcoiners,

I am very pleased to announce, the Sterlingcoin v1.6.0.0 source code has been committed and can be found at our repo, https://github.com/Sterlingcoin/Sterlingcoin-1.6.0.0-Release

Here is the applicable sections of the changlog, https://github.com/CryptoCanary/Sterlingcoin-1.6-WIP/blob/master/CHANGELOG#L1-L12

The seednodes have been upgraded to Sterlingcoin version 1.6.0.0.

Windows and Mac binaries will be built ASAP. Please allow 24 - 48 hours for that, but we hope to have them available sooner.

In the meantime here is a glimpse for you,

Linux users, please upgrade at your earliest convenience. Windows and Mac users, thank you in advance for your, hopefully brief, continued patience for the binaries.

Thank you, Sterlingcoiners!

Linux users, please upgrade at your earliest convenience.

Code:
/usr/bin/ld: /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-linux-gnu/5/../../../x86_64-linux-gnu/libcrypto.a(dso_dlfcn.o): undefined reference to symbol 'dlclose@@GLIBC_2.2.5'
//lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libdl.so.2: error adding symbols: DSO missing from command line
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
Makefile:659: recipe for target 'Sterlingcoin-v1.6' failed

LIBS += -ldl required somewhere in the .pro file (I edited the Makefile, hardly worth submitting a PR, otherwise I would).

Cheers

Sorry for the delay on getting the binaries released. Our original plan fell through, but we are well on the way with another. Sterlingcoin v1.6 binaries for Windows and Mac will be released ASAP.

Thanks for your patience!

Hi Sterlingcoiners,

Please do not mistake the lack of communication as a lack of work being done. In the initial builds of the Windows v1.6 wallet, we have uncovered some portability issues. Because there has been many, many commits to the code in the past year and a half since the last build, and some of those commits by people that are no longer in communication, tracking down the source of the portability issue has been a cumbersome task.

We are working diligently to find the proper resolution to the issue and release the Windows v1.6 binaries as soon as possible.

Thank you for your continued patience.

I see promotion from June to August, can we start doing a little bit of promotion when all wallets are released?

Hey Steven,
having trouble syncing again after having my wallet closed for a couple of weeks.
Is there an updated bootstrap I could use?

Will you be releasing binaries for the linux wallet?

hi westloin ...

these syncing issues will be a thing of the past when we get the seednodes fully operational ...

due to my being away and working on the relocation / salvage of thefarm - I will be another week away before I can get back and work ... though I will be doing a lot from the background and backend from now on I think ...

steven has a couple of seeds he has setup that SHOULD respond to the hardcoded requests rom the wallet when it starts to sync - so only he can explain what is happening there ... I'm not even going to try and speak for him - as I don't know Smiley ...

cwi will restart work on our backend systems in a week or so ...

Hello westloin,

Sorry you are having an issue with your wallet again. Just a thought, I suggest having your wallet encrypted. I know you might already have it encrypted but, if not, encrypting your wallet helps during sync.  When encrypted, your wallet will be not be staking 'automatically' at launch by default. It will try staking immediately for non-encrypted wallets because they can never be locked from staking with no password set from the encryption process. Trying to sync while trying to stake might be causing issues. If you leave your wallet locked while syncing, this possible issue can be eliminated.

Just for clarification, the Sterlingcoin.org.uk seednodes (seed1.sterlingcoin.org.uk and seed2.sterlingcoin.org.uk) are operational. These are hardcoded into all Sterlingcoin versions, previous and forthcoming. Crysx is mentioning additional SLG seednodes that will be on the CWI network. These additional seednodes are hardcoded in the latest version of the source code and will be in all binaries of Sterlingcoin v1.6 as well. These additional seednodes will be online soon and Crysx has made it a high-priority but, recent catastrophes to part of CWI's operations are understandably a greater priority. Of course, we wish him with the best of luck, dealing with that unlucky event.

The latest bootstrap I currently have is a linear bootstrap up to block height 682683, http://sterlingcoin.org/sterlingcoin-682683-bootstrap.dat This is just over two months old but, I used it recently in my test environment and it was fully synced in a 'few' hours. I would give that a go. Be sure you are deleting your peers.dat file when you are deleting the blockchain prior to bootstrapping. As you know well, be careful not to delete your wallet.dat file.

I will put "a statically compiled Linux wallet" and "a more recent bootstrap" on my to-do list, westloin. The more recent bootstrap will be made available asap. In the meantime, I hope my suggestions might be found useful.
