Oh, I see that the block reward is only 0.1 EMD, yikes!!! Also it appears there are only about 19.54 million EMD circulating! Wow, that is why there are so few for sale!

you are right. EMD is a rare coin. There are only 19 mio - 13 mio (frozen in cryptopia wallet) = 6 Mio coins circulating

Hello.

I was not able to compile Emerald under Debian 10 Buster (current stable).

Debian 10 uses boost 1.67.0.1 and openssl 1.1.1d  10 Sep 2019.

The problem seems to be with boost and I ended up by downgrading to Debian 9 (oldstable) Stretch which has openSSL 1.1.0l  and boost 1.62.0.1.

There should by a way to compile under Debian 10 as well but I couldn't figure it out. I would say one has to build openssl and boost manually and link it somehow (probably with --prefix).

actually openssl can be linked as follows: OPENSSL_INCLUDE_PATH=/usr/local/ssl/include OPENSSL_LIB_PATH=/usr/local/ssl/lib make -f makefile.unix USE_UPNP=-

Hello, currently it takes a long time to synchronize the wallet.

The snapshot does not help, because it is not a snapshot, that is called a bootstrap.

It is slower to load a bootstrap on my machine, than it is to just synchronize my wallet.

I would greatly appreciate someone actually uploading a snapshot.

To make a snapshot on Windows, click "START" and search "%appdata%", find a folder called "Emerald", Copy the folders called "blocks" and "chainstate" to a new location and add them to a zip file. I use 7zip for this.

Using a snapshot works instantly, it is used by simply pasting in the blockchain.

DO NOT INCLUDE THE "wallet.dat" FILE!!! This is your private key!

Upload this file to either mediafire or mega.co.nz to provide a snapshot. Thank you.

P.S. If nobody does this, I will do it when my wallet finishes synchronizing sometime in late July.

I downloaded the entire snapshot 2.5 GB extracted it, and it did not work on windows, it appears to be from linux.

Luckily I backed up what I had already synchronized, so that I do not have to start from scratch.

When I finish synchronizing, I will provide a windows snapshot.
