Hey everyone! I've been out of pocket for a bit trying to get a new office squared away. Sorry for the absence. With that being said... Here are a few things that have transpired since my last update. EMD is now two years old!!! Evidently not too many people check the website because there was a post there in the news section about the milestone. You can read it here:

Because of the old difficulty schedule (pre-fork) what should have happened in the middle of June will now happen sometime near the middle of October. Since the fork, we are pretty close to schedule for blocks solved, which was the initial goal of forking the coin. Some of you have said that you had an issue with the wallet freezing. I have wallets on four different computers and have not experienced any issues. If you encounter a problem where you think your wallet is freezing, check one of the two explorers we have to see where their count is at...
I am still working on an update to bring the wallet to a more modern client base. This isn't just a copy and paste scenario... Many things have changed in the crypto-client world since EMD was first released. Upgrading to a modern client requires going through every line of code and making sure that everything is in its proper place. Thousands upon thousands of lines of code...
If there are any of you who have experience and would like to help, I could use it as my time is really stretched thin at the moment and it is taking me much longer than I originally anticipated.
At some point, we will need some permanent nodes, which will be hard-coded in the new client. This will make start times quicker and syncing much easier and more reliable. We can pay for this service, but we will need to raise some funds. It would also be nice if we could pay for hosting and domain name renewals from development funds, instead of out of my pocket this year...
I am working on a project that should help us raise some funds for development and also create more exposure for EMD. This also was sidetracked by my office move, but is something that is near completion and will be announced in the next couple of weeks. It is a win-win for the users of the service (they earn BTC) and for EMD as it creates exposure for us and we also earn BTC by hosting it. By exposing new users to Emerald some of them will take the BTC they earn and buy EMD. So, I guess that would make it a win-win-win.

The last bit of news is about EMZ. The programming end is pretty much done, right now, but... We really need a better client for EMD before this is released. It is the major project that I have been working on since last September.
There are other projects that I am working on. All of these take time and will take funds to implement. I will try to get a road map set up in a PDF file that you can download. I will also post the info in the OP and on the EMD website. If you have any thoughts, don't hesitate to send me a PM, post a comment on the website or in the thread.
