I have been mining this coin a lot in the past due to its stable price and low hash rates back then.  Unfortunately due to lack of attention of the community I see slowly improvements, but many other coins have passed this coin by now.  In my opinion something big has to happen otherwise it will stay a stable but unused coin forever.

Hello everyone,

I have a question and I hope you guys will help me answer it.

I got interested in crypto recently and after some research I got interested in Emerald. I have a problem however with mining it.

After researching the system I downloaded the wallet, synced it and prepared everything on hash2coin. However when I downloaded CGminer (4.10.0 WIN) when I set the URL, login and password of the site it tells me this:

Waiting for a USB hotplug devices or press q to quit
Need to specify at least one pool server

After I put in:

My worker ID

I get the following message:

Anyone know what the problem might be?

I have an AMD Saphire card so I am thinking I might need something extra set up?

the usb hotplug tells me it's looking for a usb device to mine with.
I get the mining software mixed up a bit, but I think you may need either and older version of the mining software, or you have to use the right settings.
Best thing would be to search the web with - how to mine with - the type of GPU card you have.

Hi Everyone,

I just downloaded the following version of the wallet: Windows 0.8.7.600

I also downloaded the latest blockchain snapshot (bootstrap) - 20170607_5449211 - and unzipped the file in the exact same directory of the wallet.

However, the wallet does not import the information from the bootstrap file. I've followed the instructions as listed under "how to use the blockchain bootstrap.dat" at https://www.emeraldcrypto.de/FAQ.html.

Also, I don't understand where I have to enter the following (the only file that unzipped from the wallet zip file was the wallet program itself. There was nothing else.)

"after the first start of Emerald stop the wallet by entering ./emeraldd stop and edit the .emerald/emerald.conf file

For windows:
Start the wallet, then close it. The first time you run the wallet, it will create the directory, and several files for you.

    download the latest blockchain snapshot
    unzip the file in your emerald directory (C:\Users\*yourname*\AppData\Roaming\Emerald)
    you will see the file bootstrap.dat
    start emerald-qt
    now the Emerald Wallet should import the blockchain from your local harddrive

you do have folders in your C:\Users\*yourname*\AppData\Roaming folder right?
