I'd like to post a stickied-and-locked "New to BitCoin?" thread, but I am continuing to work on it.  If a mod stickies and locks the thread, can I still continue editing my post?

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Oh well--guess I will just need some mod support as work progresses.  Can someone sticky but not lock the New to BitCoin? thread?

Looks like you will have rely on the karma system to [-] people who reply and manually delete their post.  Cheesy

Governments are good at cutting off the heads of a centrally controlled networks, but pure P2P networks are holding their own."
