What about a crypto-currency with a guaranteed basic income for everyone but in order to receive this income you must do or give something back in return? This would work perfectly in small communities. With advancements in technology meaning that more and more people are losing their jobs, this could be a solution to that problem. And yes I have heard of Luddite fallacy but I believe technology will eventually displace most jobs. Although there will be new jobs created I highly doubt it will be enough to sustain the world's population. Surely most of these new jobs created will be technology-oriented and not everyone is skilled or intelligent enough to work with these technologies.

Excuse my English. I am German.

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

That's what POS is. To earn this income you must first buy/mine the coins. Of course the staked coins would be a rather terrible income unless a person was living in a cardboard box and could get by on pennies a day.

Otherwise, where is this income coming from? What service are you speaking of? Just because funds are paid in cryptocurrencies, they do need to come from somewhere.

I guess a mechanical turk-like service could work, with income paid in a cryptocurrency. Although there probably is no benefit of using crypto for this exactly and based on turk 'salaries', I doubt it'd qualify as a basic income for most people.

Don't think a guaranteed basic income for everyone would ever work, people with more knowledge & experience getting the same rate as someone with less? Since the beginning of time, til the end of time, there will always be different skills that some people have & some people don't. Sure they can teach or learn, but in the long run.. a basic income to everyone wouldn't be a good thing, a min income is a good idea though..

If there's a basic income and doing actual work won't give me more I won't do anything productive ever again.

Reminds me of a tale I once heard about a salesman.

Salesman goes to the door of a farmer.  "I have this AMAZING device for you!  It will do HALF the work for you!"

Farmer says, "One maching?  One will do half of my work?  You promise?

Salesman says, "Yes, it's guaranteed!"

Farmer says, "Great, I'll take TWO of 'em!"

There is no such thing as guaranteed income, basic or not.
