Note about the Windows wallet download link
The link is to a Windows Installer package (Millenniumcoin.msi). Double-click that and it unpacks the wallet to your desktop, from where it may be moved to another location if desired.
The reason for giving you an installer is that if you have previously used a Millionairecoin wallet, we need to make sure that a certain registry key is set, so you can upgrade your wallet to Millenniumcoin.
The installer also writes a ready-to-use configuration file, so all you need to do is start your wallet and it will start syncing. As all the data is routed via Tor network, downloading the blockchain may take a little longer.
To transfer your MIL to the new wallet, copy your wallet.dat to the data folder where the conf file also resides. Always make a backup copy of your wallet to stay on the safe side!

I'm still running my node on the old wallet. I started at about block 147. Seems like a shame to lose that Do I HAVE to upgrade to the new wallet? Also, I've had a whole load of blocks generated but not accepted today which is unusual, maybe just due to loads more people joining the network?

No, but by now the chain has forked between the Millionairecoin and Millenniumcoin, as the former does not accept Tor nodes and the latter does not accept connections from non-Tor nodes. The old MIL remains functional, but is no longer supported, and I understand that Poloniex is switching too to the new wallet if they haven't already. If you get Millenniumcoin and sync the wallet you'll get the same blockchain back so you aren't losing anything

Things are different this time around. No false promises or hype. All original crew from Millionaire Coin are MIA. This is a true community takeover and we actually have people who will support this coin. YarkoL has delivered Tor as promised. Now we will determine which features and improvements to implement next. Input from the community is always welcome.

The source code needs work. It doesn't build under Ubuntu or OSX 10.9, similar errors: (ubuntu) tor/millenniumcoin.cpp:59:1: fatal error: opening dependency file obj/*.P.d: No such file or directory tor/address.c:1691:1: fatal error: opening dependency file obj/address.d: No such file or directory (osx) error: unable to open output file 'obj/*.P.o': 'Error opening output file 'obj/*.P.o': No such file or directory' error: unable to open output file 'obj/address.o': 'Error opening output file 'obj/address.o': No such file or directory'
The mac wallet from the website runs but doesn't connect to anything: refreshWallet Flushed 1 addresses to peers.dat 2ms No valid UPnP IGDs found
and just hangs there and the MillenniumCoin-qt pre-built from Mega (under Ubuntu) doesn't run either: undefined symbol: _ZN5boost6detail17once_global_epochE
For what it's worth, the old MillionaireCoin wallets worked fine on both machines.

Thanks for pointing that out. The obj directory is missing, you can create directory Millenniumcoin/src/obj and see if it compiles now. The mac wallet suffers from an issue that the win wallet avoids, namely it crashes on initial run. On restart and for all subsequent runs, it should be OK edit: obj directory added now to the source.

Thanks for pointing that out. The obj directory is missing, you can create directory Millenniumcoin/src/obj and see if it compiles now.
As far as the Ubuntu goes, more errors with some directory that doesn't exist (event2).
In file included from tor/or.h:98:0, from tor/addressmap.c:9: tor/compat_libevent.h:18:25: fatal error: event2/util.h: No such file or directory #include <event2/util.h> ^ compilation terminated.
The missing obj directory under src did fix the earlier problem. Will mess with the OSX stuff in a bit but I knew about the crashing on initial launch, it just never finds any nodes after the 2nd launch (zero connections to network).

Millennium coin.. in 2014? It was acceptable in 2000. Fail.
The word millennium does not pertain to year 2000. As defined by the freecitionary.com, Millennium means: mil·len·ni·a (-ln-) or mil·len·ni·ums 1. A span of one thousand years. 2. A thousand-year period of holiness mentioned in Revelation 20, during which Jesus and his faithful followers are to rule on earth. 3. A hoped-for period of joy, serenity, prosperity, and justice. 4. A thousandth anniversary.

YarkoL is working on a new block explorer. We should see something soon. I don't want to give too many details on the next release at this time. We are still working out all the details. What I will say is there is active development behind the scenes. Anyone who would like to be part of the team or has something of value to add to MIL needs to PM me and we will discuss.

The specs are the same, but with Millennium your wallet is also turned to a Tor hidden service. There are plans to advance MIL along these lines even further, a roadmap will be posted very soon here.

The following are our plans for the rest of the year. Our goal is to deliver these features by Christmas. YarkoL has provided us with an explanation of these new additions.
Advanced Tor (Using the Delegate System) Tor Chat and File Transfer wallet integration.
Explanation of Delegate System
Presently the MIL address is relayed through Tor network, and it's pretty good anonymity, meaning that it is pretty hard for anybody figure out who is behind the .onion address. The Tor integration is however just a basic foundation for more advanced functionality in the form of delegate system that adds another layer of anonymity at the level of individual transactions.
A delegate is a wallet where a part of the total balance is used to service other users for a fee. Anyone can turn his wallet to a delegate and earn MIL offering the service. So when a sender wants to send MIL anonymously, his/her wallet contacts a delegate wallet that has enough MIL to fund the transaction.
Then the delegate wallet transfers his coins to recipient, and afterwards recipients wallet sends an equal amount (plus delegate fee) to the delegate.
The end result is that there is no record in the blockchain that links sender to the recipient. What is recorded are the payments from the delegate to the recipient and from the sender to the delegate, but for an outsider it is hard to say who is the sender and who is the delegate, especially when there are many transactions of this kind.
All this happens automatically. The sender just pushes a button and goes to sleep. Both the sender's and the delegate's wallets take care of the processing. And if something goes wrong, the sender or the delegate can reclaim their MIL. That works because the delegate transactions are highly customized and have escrow built into them.
Technically, the delegate transactions are constructed by employing the same communication channel that crypto wallets use to tell each other about the amount of blocks they're having, their peers etc. It is a very different approach compared to the usual anon solutions (mixers, key rings etc) and can be extended so that in addition to exchanging information about delegates they can broadcast other types of messages too, such as advertisements for goods or services.

Just a reminder to anyone still running the old Millionaire Coin wallet. You need to update to the new Millennium Coin wallet before moving MIL. The old wallet is obsolete and appears to have forked. Transfers to and from Poloniex will not work with the Millionaire Coin version.

The estimated time of arrival will be late this year, so your anticipation of forthcoming replies is correct. The anon feature is implemented in NUD https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=640933.msg9069750#msg9069750but there it is in unuseable form. The only other proof I can think of now is to study the past history of this coin.

I feel bad for NUD. I don't like to see coins die. MIL is not dead though. The issue I see right now is the low amount of MIL for sale on Poloniex. Everyone seems to be waiting to see what happens with our delegate project. Less than 10% of all MIL is for sale on Polo at this time. Just curious, how much NUD did you have before you sold?

Those are valid questions, let me try to address them. In NUD it is possible to do delegate transactions if you install Tor manually. However there are situations when the transaction will not go through, and some of the situations may happen quite naturally (or intentionally in case of dishonest nodes). Delegate transactions have an inbuilt security mechanism that returns the money to either sender or delegate if it hasn't reached its destination after preset expiry time measured in blocks. This security mechanism is unusable in NUD as it requires gathering certain data during processing in order to work. I have documented what that data is on NUD forum. http://nud.fi/forums/index.php?topic=19.0I did implement the said data gathering when I was working for Millionaire and was about to do the changes in user interface which would make the escrow mechanism easy and intuitive to use when Millionaire vanished. It then took a while until E9800 decided to complete the anonymity feature for Millenniumcoin along with some other new things. Meanwhile things have been going on in my real life, so I don't have the time to do all things at once, hence the late deadline.

I can take credit for the wait. It took me a bit to raise funds to pay for the Delegate Project. YarkoL has been burned by Millionaire in the past so nobody can blame him for wanting payment up front. Also, I have added to his workload by requesting other features be added to the new wallet. We have no reason not to trust YarkoL. He has already come through for us with basic Tor, Dedicated Server, Block Explorer, and Rich List. All of which he did for free. Delegate project will be completed before the end of the year.

NUD is a dead coin now, will MIL better than NUD?
Guys, please abandon this coin, just like me have sold and will sell out all my NUD.
Just curious, how much NUD did you have before you sold? i have only 100k+ before, but now only remain 60k.

MIL total coins 1,000,000. You need 4,760 coins to hold the same percentage as you did NUD. PM me your MIL address and I'll send you some to get you started.

dead?
No. Just waiting for YarkoL to finish the delegate system. We have a deadline of December 25th for completion. Other coins were wanting YarkoL to implement the delegate into their coin but we are the ones who get it. Should be very interesting to see what happens when all is completed. I will update as progress is made.

In any case, I think it will be difficult to create any interest again as there seems not to be any community at all and many people got burnt. Is it still trading anywhere? Best wishes

We are preparing for the new version and I'll post some details soon. And if people find the anon solution interesting and useful, then interest will be created again organically, without hype.

Thanks YarkoL for taking the time to reply to my post. I agree with you that interest should be created by facts and not hype. I'll be watching. Good luck

The development branch for MIL 2 is here https://github.com/YarkoL/MillenniumCoinThis is nearly sub-alpha, only testnet-enabled, so use testnet=1 in conf or -testnet switch. Can be X11 mined to generate testnet coins. Those with linux are encouraged to build and play around. No UI features yet, except you can set the advertised balance (the percentage of total balance used to fund delegate transactions) in wallet options window. Delegate transactions can currently be done via console: sendbydelegate <receiver address> <amount of MIL> To find out the the delegates you are currently connected to use I will be putting up a permanent test node with advertised balance soon

Beta wallet testing has produced some issues. YarkoL and I have decided to hold off on release until they are worked out. I do not have an ETA at this time.

Any coin can have a good comeback if there is a good developer behind. Coins are all about the developers behind them, if they are good the coin is successfull.

I sure hope there are factors besides that

I haven't checked MIL for months, including Poloniex. I was surprised to see a new Poloniex. MIL even has buy supports now from 800 to 1000 satoshis. Looks interesting.

Good to see some volume on Poloniex. Testing is taking more time than planned but we are making progress. I agree we need to get this right the first time no matter how long it takes.

The testing has been extremely slow because of tiny amount of PoS tester nodes.
We have temporarily now switched to using PoW blocks in the test network so the remaining issues can be cleared up with rapidity.

Thank you Globee07. Anybody else still around? We're probably going to open a new thread with information and stuff, but I guess it would be nice to close this one with some chit chat. Questions, about anything are welcome.

Having a new thread is really a good idea imo, as this coin is unfortunately still suffering from its bad start. People would more likely read new threads where they could see the actual technical improvement of this coin, as now MIL is really un-noticed.

Spot on Globee07. I think we're come a long way from the somewhat dubious beginnings of this coin. DAAE is very unique and hopefully will attract some new users. Since we don't have any marketing team, it will be up to community to spread the word and make the world notice the strong anonymity approach that we're advancing.
