For one thing, it helps determine early whether a dev's a real programmer, rather than a middleman/wannabee. Also, it's clear with all the scams of the past few weeks that complete anonymity means you're not accountable for anything and can get off scott-free when you scam people.

The thing is there are really no negative consequences of a dev not doing the PoD unless they are trying to do an IPO/ICO. Once a coin is in the PoS phase like Darkfox why does the dev care about doing the PoD?

What documentation is needed for a PoD?  Can it be faked?

Edit:  I just looked up CryptoAsian's website.  If I was a dev, I can think of some good reasons why I wouldn't want to do the PoD.  What I can't think of are good reasons to do it unless I wanted to do an ICO.

I'm no longer buying any coins without POD, either from cryptoasian or through some other method that inspires confidence. I have no trust in completely anonymous BCT accounts. Sorry.

Everyone still holding their coins like champs and waiting for your half witted Dev to come and give you some vague message?

Seriously, how stupid are some of you guys? The "Dev" has not directly answered ANYTHING nor has he delivered anything of substance. He's also using a bunch of accounts within this thread to bash so called FUD, by lashing out like a 12 year old.

If you still are hanging on to a shred of hope, I'll check back in a week when you're all head hunting the guy that's probably done this 10 times now

You might be right about this.
Is there anyone that is willing to take over development if the dev should disappear?

Even if the developer shows up I won't support this coin.  I'm sure the dev knows how nervous the community is about scams these days, so he knows that if he doesn't post in the thread for a few days it will look like scam and people will sell the coin.  He can use this inside information to buy cheap coins for himself which is basically another way to scam people.  It's either that or he's not coming back.  Either way, he's already shown to be untrustworthy and I won't support this coin no matter what.

+1

Sold all my coins...(still with a little profit ;-) )
You all should take a look @Project Axron!
POD before launch and the DEV even accepted me on FB (and no, his FB wasn't created 2 days ago  Cool ) to prove he is legit!

Mining since launch!

I laugh when people make these posts. Nobody cares if you buy it or not right now.  This is the high risk stage and it's figured into the price.  If the dev comes out with a PoD you will pay 3x more to buy it.  I don't know about anyone else, but I didn't buy for a minor pump and dump. I bought for the possibility it's for real because that's where the real cheesecake is made.  We will find out soon enough if this coin is legit, PoD or not.

Nice one! Like you mentioned before - this coin is all about high risk / high reward.

My biggest gains in the past has been on coins much like this. I may lose out 9/10 times, but when it does work out I make up for my past losses many times over. The cryptoverse is one big casino and unfortunately if you want to find those big winners, you got to be willing to jump on coins that 95% of people are rejecting. At this stage, this coin is certainly not for those with a weak heart and you got to be prepared to lose it all.

If the wallet does drop, we could be looking at a gain of 10x-50x at the current price. The risk/reward ratio right now looks good to me.

Yes and I stand by that statement and agree with you.  My point is I don't like the way the dev is going about creating and taking advantage of the fear.  Assuming the project has been legit all along of course.
