Speaking of making BURST more used, I'm currently developing a cloud data storage and sync service, that is just like dropbox, encrypted cloud storage, that syncs to all devices you want, and will also auto-upload from your phone all pictures, etc. Very cool service, that I will hopefully have available within the week.
This service, I will be giving trial accounts out, and will also be selling the service to a few clients of mine that I've already obtained. The trial accounts will then turn into accounts that will be paid for, of course, and I will be accepting payment in BURST. I was thinking about solely accepting BURST, but I figured that may be somewhat of an issue for my computer clients who have no clue at all, so, I am going to accept USD, but in an ideal world I would only accept BURST. hah.
Anyway, my goal is to eventually get more services that can be paid for with BURST, and ones that can ONLY be paid in BURST, so people are forced into using our innovative network. I believe that once that happens, we'll be able to easily show the value of the network that we all know and love.
So yea, still doing my part for the community, whether super active here or not, just thought you should know. As always, Crowetic Computers, LLC accepts BURST, BTC, and regretably, still USD (you know, that old useless paper thing in your desk drawer all covered in various residues, and the annoying coins that always fall down the side part of your seat in your car and never show themselves again.) Here's to the future, when this annoying 'currency' is no longer necessary!
NSA approved or NSA resistant? Since when have you known me to be directly for-authority? But since you bring it up, no, I will not be spying on anything and neither will anyone else. IF I end up having to hire another admin to help with the project, if it gets to that point, I will hire someone trustworthy and there will be continued the policy of not spying. I will not ask you to sign over your data like 'ahem DROPBOX does, and I will never misuse my admin power at all, as 1. It is stupid. 2. It is wrong, and 3. I simply don't have time for such nonsense that will do nothing but cause me issues unnecessarily. But... I'm getting things setup now to move the setup to my final host location. New server on a new VMWare host, and almost the entire hardware of the host is dedicated to the VM being setup for this particular installation. It will be increased when need be, and everything will be mirrored. The files themselves are encrypted and the connection will have an SSL cert from most likely something like namecheap, so that it will not give any of the stupid messages, even though those certs (self signed) are probably MORE secure, especially since it is me doing it, but yea... The server's data will also have another backup off-site done every (month?? Not sure yet on that) and eventually, when things get moving more, I'll send another server of my own for colo in my data host location, with even more backup location, for a 'hot' backup on a separate host, and there will be much more I will do as far as that goes, but for now, I think locally redundant with offsite backups done monthly or so should be good. Of course, the server will also sync the data with any other device based on preferences set by the user on installations of the client on whatever devices, and will also automatically upload pictures from mobile devices, etc. There's a lot more that can be done, like linking of external data sources, i.e. Google Drive, and any FTP server, etc. Which then retains an encrypted copy of even normal FTP data server information for sync/backup/etc. The server maintains a global copy of everything, then whatever you choose to sync with whatever else, is done automatically just like dropbox. (with desktop app installed.) So, does this sufficiently answer your question? This is something I basically started as something fun that I just wanted to setup, and it has become something that I think people will like, and so I thought I might give it as a service, and maybe it will go somewhere. I've already got a few clients that will definitely be interested, and some that have already expressed interest in such a service. Not to mention, the base software (ownCloud) is fully customizable, and really cool. I will be doing many modifications to it to allow for pretty much anything you can think of, and will also develop my own custom additions at some point for other purposes. The potential there is limitless, so I'm pretty excited. But, I gotta get back to making the base setup happen for now. Talk to ya'll later. I wish you to succeed on that. Look at Megaupload, Kim Dot Com, Lavabit email service, ... You are American, you do not need to be extradited. To my understanding you cannot even have the server in USA. I could only imagine to use onion network for that, multiple links to the Internet, ... a lots more than a headless VM setup. Anyway good luck.

It seems like we took a little bit of drawdown right before we were to pay our dividends, we are still in profit but it has diminished a bit: What are the odds? We must be unlucky these days. Should we pay the dividends today, or should we wait a few more days to recover back to normal?

I took a substantial loss on my bankroll investments on Betking and Safedice last night as well, I'd wait until the whales shake out again before paying dividends.

Thank you pinballdude! I unterstand... But would it be possible to make a new thread (linked to this one) and fill this new one with all the information and changes since the last update form the developer account? Sure it is possible to search the net for information, but Bitcointalk is the most used crytoforum I think. Every *sorry* CrapCoin has an "ANN" looking better than BURST. If I am a new user an only see wrong and/or old information... I might think: "Ok, it´s a waste of time." Please don´t get me wrong, I like BURST I believe there should be some updates done as well. Add to the appeal of things a little I would have to say. That and most of the links do not work that are in the OPs [ANN]. Thsee should be updated. We had a new OP ready to post, however, due to the guidelines of Bitcointalk, our account BurstDevTeam is unable to post images, and thus the new OP is unable to be posted with correct formatting... I am willing, however, to post it with the corrected formatting under my name, until we can post enough on the new account to get the rep high enough. If this is acceptable to the community, I can do this. Then we can have the admins of the forum here lock this thread after posting a link to the newer post. If this sounds okay to everyone, then we can do this. I'm up for that as well. I think it needs a fresh Ann regardless of who posts it. However you do have a great reputation here. In my opinion I would rather see it from you then someone with 10 posts and no rep. I think part of the issue with Burst is its just here. The [ANN] is outdated, links don't work. May hinder a few from joining Burst. Slowing the market. We need the fresh [ANN] and other services. That is if we want Burst to go further and increase in price. That is one of the reasons why I started the Playground. Even though there is much much more work to do. Burst needs more value. Something as simple as a fresh [ANN] just might help that knowing that it is supported and in circulation. And that the usage of the coin is increasing. I think anything we can do to increase it value and usage will increase its price and market support. A good Dev and strong support will help this coin. Personally I really like this coin. I believe it can turn out to be a great coin with more support. Just my 2 cents. I'm with you as well. If we could manage to continue with Burst development, it will grow its attention from other users out there and increase price and demand. A new announcement would be the perfect idea with updated links to block explorer, an updated site, and a new wallet as well. Also, it would not be a bad idea if by then a Burst wallet would be made which it would be mobile device compatible (Android/iOS). It all needs good marketing and a really good dev and community for it to succeed. When I first got into Burst, I got interested by its features (asset exchange, smart contracts, and a good wallet UI) Just hope for it to have a price increase someday. I am very optimistic.

I agree so far that the biggest risk is that NXT will eat burst at some time... but if that does not happen, if burst gains some features of its own, there is room to rise, even when all coins are distributed it is not entirely obvious if nxt or burst has the most practical way of keeping transactions running. NXT gives more power to those who own a lot of NXT, BURST gives more votes to those who have lots of terabytes of harddisk space. Another problem with burst is that we are currently still shellshocked by the lead developer dissapearing - there is no core developer group, and none of us in the shadows have had time to take over ( or have had potentially hostile motives and been chased away ). Most of this is well priced in, as burst is down like 5 times its price since when burstcoin was still here. so.. this is an extreme lottery ticket. If a developer finds himself between jobs, he'll buy up some BTC worth of burst, take the project lead job, and take the price back up 500% in weeks. If the developer then succeeds with showing progress and a decentralized development structure, we could be aiming at a good bite off NXT's marketcap. If we play nice and help NXT to implement whatever cool stuf we invent, we get synergy and the two coins could rise together and eat most other altcoins. The tech is way advanced over bitcoin and its copies, but we need someone to gamble big and spend half a year of developer / project lead time to tie the knots. payoff? potential 100 bagger from here. And whoever takes the proj. lead will probably have loaded up bigtime on BURST coins before that.. so watch the markets for accumulation. watch the rich list..

JamesHODL or whatever has been promising Supernet forever, and there are some improvements, but with an initial distribution to 60 odd people and no "killer app"™, I think NXT may be in more trouble than a fairly distributed coin/asset like BURST.

I have successfully received my first payment from a Burst asset! Since I am getting to know Burst even more everyday, it is nice to see how assets work within the BURST system. Thanks for the payment! Grats! You can also receive monthly dividend payments from the ByteEnt and Income assets. ByteEnt generates burst via mining pool fees and other sources, and income generates btc from investments in bitcoin casinos and by trading altcoins, and uses it to buy burst on exchanges in order to pay out.

ByteEnt generates burst via mining pool fees and other sources, and income generates btc from investments in bitcoin casinos and by trading altcoins, and uses it to buy burst on exchanges in order to pay out. Sorry about the payment not going out yet @ ByteEnt holders, you can see @ the blockex that I've made the payment transfers INTO the ByteEnt wallet, simply haven't made the transfers to the holders yet... as tiga is generally the one who does this. But I think this time it is going to be myself... so... I'm going to figure it out real quick, how to use tiga's payout script.
Upon the completion of the 'figure it out' stage, I shall probably run a fraction payout test. All goes well, THEN I will run main payouts. I would really hate for my first payout to require a refund back into the account from the holders, what a nightmare...
But, luckily, since tiga's work is usually easy to follow and well documented, I should be able to run the payouts without issue, hopefully here in the next short while.
I didn't even sleep last (this) night, because I had so much to do and so much to prepare for the next day (today?) ugh... So bare with me everyone, I've just got quite a bit on my plate right now.-----@elmit's questioning of my nefariousness in data storage, there will be nothing like THAT being hosted there, and if I happen to notice a user's share link that has something like that, it shall be disabled. I'm not about hosting a location for people to place illegal whateverthefucks. If they're going to do that, it can be under their name encrypted with their key, and not viewable to anyone but them, that way my well-worded page that will explain the fact that I DO NOT MONITOR THE DATA ACTIVELY, AND THUS TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR WHAT THE USERS HAVE THERE. Then provide a set of guidelines as far as what is acceptable and what isn't. By accepting the account, you'll automatically accept the rules therein, and that's that. I don't think I will ever get big enough to actually have to worry about whatever anyway, but if so, I guess that is when my lawyer friend may come in handy, and we can set a more strict set of guidelines.... But my overall goal is to NOT be looking at the files that are placed there, so a policy TO do that, is against what I'm going for. I'm certain there's some legal jargon way of saying "the only part of this that is owned by me, is the concept and setup of the software's configuration files. The platform is open source, the server is rented, and the hard drives are as well. Everything is virtual, so there isn't anything really there anyway, right?" Or something such as this. The files are the user's responsibility, if the user decides he has a different responsibility, it is upon him. The only way I will notice, is if they're posting public share links, so I will monitor for strange server usage, and go from there.---- So, anyway, I think I should have a pretty close to synchronized burst wallet here somewhere, gimme a couple minutes to see and I'll post an update on the status.
My next goal is to fully automate this process, so that I don't have to worry about manually doing payouts anymore, or at the very least, mostly automate it...
I'm teaching myself all sorts of nonsense nowadays, may as well add that to the list. ttys.

alright folks, I got it figgerd. So, cross your fingers! lol... first though, I must figure out what exact time the last payout was done. Or... hmm, that isn't necessary. Let me run a couple more little tests really quick, I don't think that portion truly matters. ... But anyway, yea, I got it to calculate, so that's basically all I needed anyway, worst case I just send payouts out manually, but I highly doubt that'll be necessary, since I got this far already. xD Don't you feel confident that I'm so smart! Yes thanks for your reply. I did invest a couple of Burst into the ByteEnt asset and will invest into Income asset as soon as I have more BURST. I still have some doubts about BURST assets and those are whenever all assets pay dividends weekly, monthly or daily?
