Euhm OK. Efficient HDD mining Huh I followed instructions of the youtube video to mine (the one reffered on the BURST site). I did a first half hour of mining yesterday and I got as bonus for mining: 0 + 1 BURST, with the 1 being a fee. So I actually mined and lost 1 BURST to thank me for my effort  Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh

UPDATE: Started mining again and I lost 1 BURST again. Anyone knows what is going on ?

Usually pools don't payout if its not above a threshold. Ask the pool operator for details in your case.

Wouldn't it be nice to get all these recalled Samsung phones to use them as an Android BURST miner?

I'm afraid your mining rig would explode haha  Grin

Ok thanks. So does that mean that I need to use more HDD ? I am using 14 GB at the moment, but I have a lot more that I can use.

Well then, use more and help secure the network. Cool
According to the calculator (http://burstcoin.biz/calculator) you'll get ~47 Burst/month with 14 GB.
When trying to calculate your ROI to "justify" buying a new or used drive, keep in mind that the exchange rate to BTC is fluctuating, sometimes wildly.

Some people are really very in need of BURSTs. They not even stop to create a new BURST account, to beg for seed money (faucets).

Have a look at this final receiver:

BURST-R8SQ-TUEM-DTHQ-7ATA3

Collected already 673,576,045 BURSTs and needs still 5 or 10 BURSTs as donation ...

I would not work for such a low hourly rate, ...

Adding to this I would ask why the OP is not online for more than a year? Is this coin still available and does it worth investing/mining.

@ccminer.net, It is quite good, but expect the numbers to go down as the block rewards goes down. The network can also change, which affects the difficulty (base target). You also need to remember, as with all crypto mining a lot of it is random. You can find 0 blocks a month and the next you can find 2 in a row.
Take it with a grain of salt.

@Extrabyte, The @OP made a satoshi nakamoto and isn't online anymore. We suspect he is watching us, as he is updating his pool. We are not entirely sure, but we appreciate the fact he made his coin for us.
The coin has now been taken over by the community and we are developing on the piece of software @Burstcoin made. You are welcome to join the forum and take a talk with the rest of the community. https://forums.burst-team.us

Pretty interesting and seems a similar history with bitcoin lol, 25k of replies here means a lot and means how large is the community, I'm just checking the current price and seems a bit low as 199 satoshis, anyway will keep watching this and on the burst forum.

I have 2x 2TB external hard drives with USB 3.0 and wanted to know if it affects the total reward or not, I have also an SSD with 120GB maybe it worth more as its speed is much higher than those 2TB. From the site it shows me the profit Burst Per Day 394 Burst which is $0.39?

Yes, around that. Buy some asset in Asset Exchange and watch your Burst growing. The price of Burst is growing quite good from the chart of https://poloniex.com/exchange#btc_burst so don't use today price, see the possibility of the price in the future.

I do not think SSD is will make more from ordinary HDD. Your storage is what matter much, so USB 3.0 is enough.

Thanks for explaining this to me, I though that SSD is better than traditional HDD for HDD mining but seems that the most important thing is the storage whatever the transfer (write/read) speed is. The new OP seems to be more active than this OP lol. I will keep researching about Burst thanks.

Head over to the Forum where people will gladly help you;
http://forums.burst-team.us:4567/category/8/mining-plotting

A little more effort in describing your problem would help a lot, though.
I've been running dcct for 20 months, and it is nearly bug-free
and rock-stable.
