I see some serious action took place, price tripled on me, I see new wallet , let me sync and check my holding as always I amlost never sell , lets see...

Ya, I've been mining since nearly day 1 with 15+tb....I sold half my holding @ like 30 sats.  I'm totally kicking myself now!  Gonna be paying more close attention to Burst in the future...

Thank you, Xavier.

People, this thread is outdated, the one linked by Xavier above is the one that is able to be updated, and thus the location for all new BURST related info.

Also, we ARE aware of other issues on our front end products, like our website, and our blockex. We're working to resolve them ASAP. Right now though, we're focused on the back end.

For those of you sticking with the original thread, and not following the new thread:

Due to the arrival of an industrial scale miner (or consortium of miners) at Ninja!, we've set up a second pool to reduce the heat of Ninja! pool, and the appearance of a 50% attack vector.

The new pool uses the same code, same payouts, same fees as Ninja!, but allows longer deadlines than Ninja! does, to make it more appealling to small miners.

The new Burst-Team pool is open and mining.

Details:

Pool url: pool.burst-team.us:8124
Reward Assignment address: BURST-32TT-TSAC-HTKW-CC26C

The pool is running the exact same code as Burst.ninja, and additionally has the longer permissible deadlines that the original burst.ninja had.

These longer deadlines are suitable for smaller miners, but all miners small or large are welcome.

Note that the database still needs some spring cleaning, so for now it will show your 'Total Earned' as the sum of your earnings on Ninja and Burst-Team.

H.

Awesome. This opens up a new door of possibilities for BURST. I never thought that this was possible but now it is and it will be a great way to mine BURST on your android device as well (once this feature is added into the wallet) I am going to test this on my tablet and let you know about my experience using it.  Smiley

Why not use the hdd space for something useful, like website hosting? That would be a coin i could get behind.

To answer your question:

The hdd space is used to secure a electronic payment transaction system with smart contracts with much less operating expanses (energy) than Bitcoin and all other coins except PoStake*.

How many websites could we host? Many - and it would be still free space available. Not in every country it's allowed to host websites without problems nor every user want to host sites for someone else.

You can theoretically sell your not used free space to someone else for his website and get Burst as a payment for your service.

*Proof of Stake has so many disadvantages that I don't even want to start with it.

Burst is mined by hdd, it works with precalculated hashes, stored on hdd. It's NOT pay rewards for sharing space.
It is useful, to store hashes, because you only calculate them once ... not 24/7.

That is true. Whereas Bitcoin and other PoW coins waste a hefty amount of energy, Burst gives a better advantage by being energy efficient. It also opens ways for an average Joe to get started mining in minutes with just a HDD without the need to buy expensive ASIC mining equipment. But still, it would be great for Burst to have data cloud feature. Since Burst is based on NXT, I think that this could be implemented (since the latest version of NXT already has this) Check it out here: https://nxt.org/what-is-nxt/data-cloud/   Cheesy

Great answer  Smiley The bolded part, I think, would be a HUGE feature if it could be implemented as some kind exchange supported by AT within the wallet, or even externally as an exchange for offering capacity (space and speed) and making the deals with AT.

Even with my limited knowledge, understand that it'd be complicated to develop, but, man, just the idea makes me excited!

I tweet about BURST @ https://twitter.com/Turn0ff_tweets/with_replies Follow and retweet if you like the focus Smiley

Sure it could be implemented (did something like that already), the NXT Data-Cloud is based on their blockchain.
BURST can store 1kb per transaction, thats currently 255kb per block and 92MB a day. Some of that get lost by headers.
Storing data on BURST blockchain is currently a lot cheaper than on NXT :-)
Easiest way would be, to convert binary data to characters and split them in 1kb big parts ... now you can send every single part as transaction.
Just send the last part first and remember transactionId, add that transactionId to the second last part, and so on ...
In the end you will only need to know the 'root' transactionId to load your data back out of the blockchain.

For example, the root transactionId is '3448044384464310603'
Code:
3448044384464310603 -> {"next":"6351193878006469662","data":"ꯨਢ적(όໝ㍢蜗裟鑰㴧ꃴ“㛋澞㻈䛌ဓ먭䂼ɶ쑰⸱鮘儼⛄癑ꞗࣧ뛀聁ⳃ〦ந腢ꤔ渴łਐ≫瀄ⰽ튠䶱䄢ꀞ祻誁ꒃ唛䷉⭒禉Ꮖ惍猠⬨ﻡ䰹᫑䅑鐬Û䀔༉儔噇㥰恈혼싀ዐ쮈쀵⁐ڗ帀芄?ɄⰀ䰀聽ჴ앾숥캃䆁섮៣ꤏ\rԤ⥡唄䀸ᴲ㋴尃臻꘸፪갯¥脳㬁쒇칊㢒阴ಆ쀩쎧ȸᎉ僒邓됩ȩ䌂䗔Q脨ׂ숅⤠㒄礽ፀዜꪥ愸褖䝫尙?ᕠ㌼ꦥΑ⻨[숸㐂︫郙֢敁⥥尶媖ࢄ붢瞐耴ఉ搁ႊ繍입ኀᨉウꩠ㊐쀤ᢔ놤ޘ歇搒ڊ⏃东胰ꂛ估᠂倷舮ޘ⪅⠔싒낡头렶葮㘁㲜䁎᫃\u0006첄Ʉ㹠ᨇթƉ輈魧樅ㅳꚖ殂櫭ષ℀鐍畳餠ૠ⎆툇⠿䓪ᄤ跚\u0006㔈⵼䞢䁭㎖䳈䣆垶辨慉탽咬ସ㪕ࡊ䇽埜ᜇ堗䏾苆༆ࠀ뺕┘敧栚㎬ଉꒂ퐽ᴀ椃䀒끱ԟ둩㜒ܤ␞䲞⎇゗鳲楲⧠렷囐盅굴㉒ღ渃嬚퍞ᒀ"}

Why not use the hdd space for something useful, like website hosting? That would be a coin i could get behind.

For example, the root transactionId is '3448044384464310603'

hi everyone

just wanted to confess i added BURST to my portfolio

so far i like what i see

i just would love to see a hybrid POW/POS concept like we have it in DMD

this normally create lot less block time fluctuation (because using different adjustments)
and remove lot coins from circulation because people love to harvest

br

ur friendly diamond man
