Personally, buying BURST coin at current low price seems to be better option for BURST investors, than directly mining the coin.
To mine the coin efficiently, electricity bills should be stayed as low cost as possible, which is not true at the moment.

What do you mean "not true"? Proof of Capacity consumes much lower electricity compared to Proof of Work and it is just as secure if time memory trade off and grinding attacks can be mitigated. The PoCC is developing not only the platform but also Proof of Capacity. By Burst version 3.0.0, we would have a better PoC and enough to compete with the coins in the top 10.

I buy 100 to 200 dollars of burst per week like a stock option  plan. Cost averaging...so this extra time before  the fork and implementation in business has allowed me to get  so much more..  so ive beem selfishly happy it hasnt mooned yet hahah

I envy you guys in the states for being able to actually get things done regarding the adoption of burst outside the moon/lambo realm. i got all soft and mushy when i saw the "burst accepted" stickers.

Ty for the bump Scooby and graysoon. But I am so sad to see in your trust comments that you are only one person lol. I thought Burst was gathering more real users.

How many users have been bumping the thread with several accounts?

The problem is, there are 2 different threads for the same  coin and people refuse to abandon the old one. People shouldn't be writing in this thread. OP or Mods don't lock the thread neither which creates confusion.

There are much more burst fans than you think. All these people who mine burst are also burst users. They are just a bit shy...

I realize that some comments slamming Bram Cohen came from the members of the Burst community who got salty because Burst wasnt given any credit for being the first coin to use Proof of Capacity.

They were not salty. Bram Cohen was trying to make it show that his project would be the first to use hard drives for mining, which isnt true.

By the way BRS 2.2.0 "Pre-Dymaxion" is released.

We have the power with burst to make an impact. I for one, and the people out here in the ca team are not sitting idly by. You can make waves or always wonder what you could have done Smiley

Wow, so I can actually use my HDD for this?
Is there any other coin like this in existence? This has been here since 2014.

Yes you can. But don't expect any considerable rewards with a few hundred Gigabytes.
Burstmining with a capacity less than 50 TB isn't worth it and if you have to buy the HDDs -> better buy burst directly Wink

Hello everyone Smiley

Where can I find existing or theoretical use cases for Burst smart contracts?
I know the "marketplace" and have used it. But is there more complex possibilities?
E.g. could you deploy something like the cryptokitties smart contract on Burst?

I am interested in what Burst can do now and what is planned.

After the arrival of the FPGA, the mining at the GPU will die.
However, BURST will continue to live! It's great!

BURST coin is Extreme Tech meets massively strong monetary policy.  Energy Efficient vs. Wasteful BTC and other PoWs

2.1 billion capped supply ---- two VERY strong Exchanges --- Poloneix and Bittrex --

This Coin can Go to $1 easily (2.3 billion dollar global market cap)
