Is that storage put to use or simply wasted as hashing power in Bitcoin?

As I remember, in Storj, people can actually store stuff on that disk space.

Alright, pool is now finally up. Disclaimer, this has hardly been tested, so there could be bugs.

pocminer_pool: https://mega.co.nz/#!7hwHQJLZ!-waC7CwWeMStkdAwjEVbew1fN_YqeZDRWMWfCylaNPo
(I know I shouldn't have made a separate miner, but it needs an overhaul anyway, so that'll be coming at a later time)

pocminer_pool does both solo and pool mining. plot files that have a corresponding passphrase in the passphrases.txt file are solomined if you have your wallet running, and plot files without a passphrase are assumed to be for the pool

edit the pool ip into the mine.bat file.

go to the pool at http://198.199.103.145:8121/
put your payout address(BURST- address) into the textbox, and submit it to get a generate address
generate your plots for that
target deadline is currently set to 20000, so you'll get a pool share for every deadline under 20k your miner finds.
When the pool finds a block, the reward is given out proportionally to the number of shares each person submitted since the last found block
payout should be instant when a block is found, since there is no block maturing time.

If anyone wants to host their own, code is on github, and you need the lastest client from github also.
you need to explain better this.
Is hardly to understand something here.

Do we need to regenerate a new plot file with new pocminer_pool?

So I just mined a block and it showed in in the burst web interface (127.0.0.1:8125) and I just checked the web interface again about an hour or so later and the mined coins are gone? Under Blocks, in the web interface, it doesnt show up anymore either. What the hell?

This happened to me as well. Make sure your system time is synced with the internet time server of your choice. If your computer is off by even 10 seconds, you will have problems mining. Sounds weird, but it is very important for NXT based coins. After I synced my computer my found blocks stayed in my wallet.

Interesting as the 2 other blocks I have mined have not suffered the same fate. Why this block?

Yes, to use this type of pool you need to generate plots for the address it gives you. Personally, I'd keep on solo mining with existing plots rather than replace them if you're still getting something occasionally.

Can you explain in details how your pool work?
How can you get reward for block if an user will produce blocks himself?

I can solomine blocks for themselves and to send shares to the pool at the same time.
If I find a block, then I will receive a full reward for it if I can not find - I'll get an award from the pool.

This pool requires users to generate plots for addresses controlled by the pool. These plots aren't useful to the user without the pool, since they can't sign the blocks without the private key.

Pools that can use existing plots requires a significant addition to the protocol, and will be coming later.

Ok, I understand it, but how about this:

In this case an user have the private key.

i will give it a try but, can you please explain also the output of miner_pool?
How should look like, what means everything that is in output?
Thanks

deadline at 20000 is very high for people with less than 500GB. With this increasing difficult after week, people with 1TB will also be in trouble. Before one week it was possible to reach it. Now i have something like 100k-200k. After a week it will be 200K-400K, probably...
The result is that with pool i also can't mine this coin...

- hi!
May I remind, that you can also put a buy order(s) at Asset Exchange

Right now there are already 2 buy orders at 0.00343 BTC/1000FIM :

Quote
Buy Orders (7)

NXT-JZ7R-3DTT-HUMN-GUBYX   6.24   50   312

but of course, some seller might decide to save 1% on fee and avoid trustless path (Asset Exchange)...

Is it safe an using a somebody else's node for NXT (and BURST) for trading trough AE now?
Earlier (in the winter) password transmitted to the node and the node do sign using the password.
Does the passphrase send to the node for signing or signing is a client-side procedure processed by javascript now?
