Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

Question: Is there any light wallet? I am considering to write one. But I don’t want to re-invent wheel.
I think there is no light wallet for burstcoin at the moment.

Hmm.. doesn't https://burstcoin.io/ a web-wallet ?

In deed it is.

The difference between web and light wallet is, that with light wallet the password stays on your computer.

I am thinking about possibility to have "cold storage" option - signing transactions with offline computer.

I've several, what could be viewed as, cold wallets. I have a computer rarely used but freshly installed; with thumb-stick drive I move a copy of the wallet to this computer. After plugging it in to the network, I basically do three things:
1) Create a new wallet with a complex and very long password using the screen keyboard in Windows
2) From one of my live wallets, I make a transaction to the new account, making a note of the address only
3) After writing down the password on paper, I make an outgoing transaction to my live wallet to secure the new "cold" wallet and disconnect from the web.

When done, I regularly send funds to these accounts, but I never log in to them from a computer that's on the Internet all the time. Through a blockexplorer or a hot wallet, I can easily check that no funds have not been transfered out from my "cold" accounts whenever I want.

That's about as "cold" I've managed to get my accounts.

I wanna to buy some more hdd's and I'm looking for best (value/power) solution to how to connect them to my mainboard. I made some research but still don't know where should I go. Can I have any tips?

If you have free SATA-Ports on your motherboard I suggest WD Green 3TB or 4TB drives. They are cheap, fast and quite reliable. External USB3.0 Drives are also fine, just don't pick Intenso (had lots of problems with them).

All SATA ports are occupied, so I need additional SATA controller.

i bought a controller with 2x internal SATA and 2x USB3 , for two of my 3 pc's.  it was PCIe and it was dirt cheap. I used the internal extra SATA ports to put online some old disks i had lying around, and the external USB ports were used for 4TB intenso and seagate disks.  You want to verify that you have an extra PCIe slot before going that route..

Both options ("password stays on your computer in you browser" & "cold storage" aka "Public Key with first tx") have already been implemented in standard Burst wallet.

Something I've been doing is to just try to find some people every day to reach out to and try to get on-board, particularly java developers in the crypto field.  If we want this coin to be a long term success, I think that maybe 5 developers would be ideal.. at least two or three though.

I've tended to notice a little bit of extra volume everyday after I tend to send out a blast of emails.. so I think people are interested.

Point being though, this coin is about to explode.  If anyone can reach out to developers and try to get them on-board while we're small, it would be ideal in my opinion to have a few well invested into it.  I'd ask that others also try to do the same.

Developers, business people, marketers, etc.

Ok, so when I use 3rd party web based wallet it signs transactions in the browser? I thought it querries the api with the password.

This.

Everyone with connections in those areas should try to spread the word about Burst.

Btw, anyone here with decent marketing experience in general? It would be great if you want to contribute to the coin's development.  Smiley

Who has already developed tools for plotting and mining BURST?
Correct, it's dcct and not m3ta.  Wink
So, I guess dcct knows what he is talking about.

I had 4x3TB WD Greens running in a home NAS for 2.5 years. One disk just died but he remaining 3 are running along just fine.
Does that make WD greens bad? Maybe not, but since then I have learnt my lesson and have switched to red NAS-disks instead. Hopefully they will perform better then the greens.

Unfortunately, many of us will never own enough drives to be able to tell their reliability with any reasonable degree of accuracy.

I only had truly bad experiences with "Deathstars" if you still remember those.

As far as greens go, only thing that had me worried for a bit with regards to Burst mining is their speed. However, that was squashed a few pages back

For a NAS WD Red is a good choice. In Backblaze's huge test (25,000 hard drives!), WB Green didn't stand out negatively, quite contrary to what m3ta states.

Best results did Hitachi/HGST show. What you clearly should stay away from is Seagate Barracuda (at least in a data center setting - or maybe not...).

There was someone announcing forming of PR team a while ago. I wonder if its still on going?

After Wulfcastle's offer to help out with PR (see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=731923.msg9684608#msg9684608), I made a post about some ideas of a PR management team (see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=731923.msg9687064#msg9687064).

It surely wasn't an announcement. I tried to describe how it's possible to think about PR. As Burst matures, I hope more and more community members understands the significance of PR. In our case, it means that:

1) PR initiatives have to come from the community and that we can do a lot to promote Burst;

2) PR work is just an another way to increase your stake in Burst, as wider adaptation will lead to a high price; and

3) Certain PR efforts can't be done freely by the community members but will require funding (e.g, Wulf's example withe hiring an actor for a voice-over to a promo video), and since Burst wasn't premined nor an IPO, the required funding has to come from the community. Participating in crowd-funding to get a certain PR activity done or donating to a devs-fund is also a way to increase the value of your investment.

The posts from us received some positive feedback but not a lot. I think we need to start thinking differently in the Burst community. Burst will not become a prime crypto solely by dev's technological innovation, but it will need a lot of community support.

Although the reactions weren't overwhelming to Wulf's suggestions or my idea of forming a PR management team, it at least led to discussions among a few members. What that will turn out to be is too early too say; however:

The most important is that the investors and miners start asking themselves what competences, qualities, knowledge and even funds they have/can offer to collectively promote Burst.

Only then can Burst become a major actor. So try to think a bit in this way: What can you contribute with to support Burst?

There is no rules. I'm using several types of HDD. The worse are 2 TB Barracuda's. Almost everyone died during warranty. WD Green's and Red's - very similar: 2 Green's dead and one Red as well.
