spending or holding?

the crazy thing is : you can do both Grin

I think doing both is both great for the promotion and bitcoin and also a safe investment. I just only wish bitcoin was worth what it was at its peak, though I'm sure it'll be back there eventually, so that why I hodl hehe.
It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

Every time I buy stuff from Overstock.com, I spend bitcoin. (Although I only shopped there once.)
Every time I eat at Ocean Blue Sushi, I spend bitcoin. (Although I've only eaten there twice - Sushi is very high-carb.)

Summary: I'll spend more bitcoin when more places take it.

You've got to ask first if one's a miner or if he/she gets paid in BTC. If you have to buy BTC to spend them, it doesn't make much sense.

I used to be a citizen and a taxpayer. Those days are long gone.

Sadly yes but I try to use Bitcoin to make more Bitcoin in the short term.  I will admit that every time I do spend my Bitcoins on something I cringe or when I cash out for fiat that is the worst feeling!  Many times I've actually lost by not holding so yea..   Angry

idiots wth very bad math skills.  ignoring inflation, everytime you make money with btc, someone loses it and vice versa.  same applies to buying/mining and selling with btc

So? if no one trades at all no one is losing or gaining? What are you talking about?

i was referring to all the people who claim that because merchants convert bitcoin received to fiat right away, the more merchants accepting bitcoin, the lower the price will be driven down, due to all the immediate sales of coin on transaction..  total bs.

SUSHI IS HIGH CARB?  maybe you eat too much rice.. stick with sashimi.. all fish is protein.  very healthy and delicious.  stay away from california rolls.. fake crab and rice is not sushi.

I spend it when I need to, but I try to hodl as much as I can. It's a much better payment method than other things, but if I need to pay in fiat, I have to wait around for a few days while I have it sent to my bank account to transact in less efficient ways.

Due to an article that BitcoinTalk didn't like that I wrote on CCN, my account is banned. Theymos refuses to reply to my request for hearing his side of the story instead of banning my account. Please sign my petition to get Theymos to unban my account. Thank you.

I'm not really spending much BTC. At the moment I am holding bitcoins but I would not ever rule out the chance of spending bitcoins and keeping some in storage when the time came. So far I have not felt the need to want to use bitcoin but sooner or later that time will come when more companies start accepting. I am adding more here and there. I did just spend some recently on a new Trezor, but I immediately put that amount of BTC back into one of my wallets. I would have bought it with credit card or debit card if they would have accepted it. It was actually the first time that I have actually spent BTC. I was pleasantly surprised with how easy it was.
