August 21th you will get a free stake in two new cryptos if you hold PTS in your wallet!
This is what we call a snapshot in the BitShares community. Holding a certain crypto gives you a stake in another crypto.
BitShares PTS is the mother-coin of all BitShares products, and has already given rise to BitShares X,
(as well as third party coins such as Memorycoin and LottoShares by FreeTrade).What this all means is that BitShares PTS is charging up for yet another bull run!
 The two new cryptos are BitShares DNS and BitShares Vote (not updated in the picture).
In other words, the way to get BitShares DNS and BitShares Vote is to hold PTS in your wallet 21th August.
A snapshot will be taken of your PTS balance that day.
Later you will be able to claim (with that wallet, that private key)

Btc38 apparently is taking part in the snapshot, but remember you don't follow too closely you might miss out on snapshots - there is going to be a DAC flood soon. So better to keep them in your wallet when you are not trading.

Either or both. Typically a minimum of 10% goes to each. |

It is difficult both to understand and to communicate effectively. The infographic is now updated. Does it make more sense now? Feedback appreciated. To confirm: You only need to hold BitShares PTS at the end of August 21th either1) in your wallet and retain control of private keys (you use these keys when the time comes to claim your stake) or 2) at BTC38/BTER as they have promised to claim your stake for you when the time comes BitShares PTS can be obtained by 1) mining it2) buying it on an exchange. |

It will be interesting, I haven't learnt much about the Vote DAC yet, but The DNS DAC I really like in general and it gives 40% of the initial equity to PTS which is good too especially when you think NameCoin is $14 million and BitShares DNS pretty much blows NameCoin out the water imo. |

Great post! ( and super intuitive infographic too) For everyone who isn't familiar with BitShares PTS:I'll share a couple of great analogies that have been floating around and have helped my understanding how they relate to the market of the BitShares platform. - PTS are like the geese that lay golden eggs - for every new DAC that is released, those who already own PTS will get a stake (like Xeldal mentions, typically 10% - but can also be more! It's all up to the developers of the particular DAC how much they'd like to allocate)
- PTS are kind of like a heart rate monitor for DAC ecosystem - The market depth illustrates the public perception of the DAC being launched.
