Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Could anyone ELI5 what weight is?

If you are referring to weight as in "Not enought weight" with POSII (Proof Of Stake) then it's the age of the coin you have in your wallet.
In short, it's how old the coins you currently having in your wallet in form of confirms.

With enough age (weight) of the coins, you start to produces POS blocks with in term means by holding you coins in the wallet, you get an small amount of coins just for holding coins in your wallet, open and running.

So in short weight means with weight you produces a small amount of coins via Proof Of Stake (POS) depending on coin age.

Examble of block #1559828 which is POS block - https://chainz.cryptoid.info/xmg/block.dws?1559828.htm
The wallet contain an amount of 447.0266122 XMG with enough weight to generate 0.01237373 XMG

Hope this is good enough explanation Smiley

All coins get pumped and dumped, who knows a coin which has not been p&d already?
No, don't know a single one that hasn't been - which is why I think its good publicity that they decided to mention Magi
Magi hasn't been pumped for ten days now, therefore it was at least one smaller or bigger ninja pump every 4 days.
I guess our guy has found a better coin to pump (or he is out of BTC)  Grin

A pump every four days sounds like an expensive operation Cheesy But lucky you guys here to have someone do that. He must have been deeply in love with MAGI!

I don't have an good explanation on how long it will take before that happen.
You could hover with your mouse over the stake icon in the wallet and that will tell you when your coins is ready is going to stake.

Is this normal, these staking failures ?

As the result of this the daily staking reward halves, 5 instead of 10 XMG for every 100K.

Anyone got suggestions of a good exchange to use?

Currently have a NovaExchange account with 1XMG in it, but with ownership change coming up, I'm not willing to risk ongoing usage until the handover and relaunch is complete and the dust settles.

I've currently got 20 XMG stuck in Bittrex Hell due to an "identity validation" issue, with no word back from support in 2 weeks (i'm beginning to think they will be stuck in there forever...)

As you can guess I've bad luck when it comes to crypto coins and exchanges...

Any suggestion welcomed... Wink
