Tipcoin is a coin designed for average people, who want to show respect.
It was created to be used as a way of tipping, that won't cost too much, and is easy to get.
Plans for the future:
  • Get it up on some exchanges, at a really cheap (less than $0.005) price.
  • Create a block-explorer (any offers here via PM are appreciated).
  • Design a Reddit bot to make tipping easier on reddit.
  • ASAP: Give away the TPC from the testing mine to initiate the currency! (that'll be on reddit)

Specifications:
Release date: 19:00 UTC 2016-07-08 / Small testing-mine to be given away as tips!
Uses Scrypt PoW to keep mining simple
Block reward gives 500 TPC, halving every 500K blocks.
CPU mining
Block generation: 4 minutes
Difficulty retargets every 16 minutes.
Total coins to be created: 500000000 COINS!
Decentralized P2P Network with only a few nodes to begin with.
Contains future-proof support for decimals, however was designed with integers in mind Wink

Windows Wallet and Linux Wallet can be found on the website: http://tipcoin.xyz
Reddit thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/altcoin/comments/4rw7fl/tipcoin_a_new_revolutionary_way_to_let_someone/
Motto: "Everyone deserves a pat on the back every now and then."
Note: Website may go down for a small amount of time as I sort out the hosting in a few minutes Wink

Yep, however this coin is specifically made (and aptly named) for tips, however much easier to obtain.
The reddit thread was removed, other than that, not much to see; not much to say...
The reddit thread mostly says what's here, however with a little bit more 'padding'. I'll look into why it was removed.

I'm not quite sure what you mean with the first part. The source code we got wasn't from one of the mainstream coins, it was given to us as a starting base. It'll continue to be built upon, at least. We may push some updates to the wallet onto our website in the future, this was as a first release.
Point 2: I guess you could mine it other ways, however it wasn't made to be profitable at all, it was made to show appreciation Tongue

EDIT: Apparently the mods of the subreddit took it down. I'll look a bit further and perhaps into creating its own subreddit.
