Back from holidays with a quick update:

New design boards with PCI-E plugs instead of screw terminals  have been sold for the last 3 months, I'll take some pictures of them to update the first post.
The following boards are concerned:
DL580 G3 STD (8 PCI-E plugs)
Common Slot STD (8 PCI-E plugs)
DPS2000 BB XL (12 PCI_E plugs)

All the boards including the Bladecenter H 2880w are now in stock.

Double ended PCI-E cables are also available in 24" and 36" as well as custom length.

DL580 G3 XL is discontinued because of the lack of supply on the main connector
Common Slot XL was repleaced by a STD version with 8 PCI-E plugs (more than enough for 1200w)

A new board will also be released soon to allow those with faulty S4 PSUs to have something really close to stock size but with more power (at least 1600w) and that can be powered from 110v.
The product reached its final steps: design of the enclosure that will be attached in place of the original PSU.

Small teaser for the S4 PSU breakout board:

White connector is for the remote switch.

And here are some pics from developpment.

http://imgur.com/a/3G5zL#0

The white plastic sheet was used to simulate thickness and dimensions of a metal sheet for the enclosure.

Hello,
are there any adapters/boards available which can power a KNC Titan (4-8x PCIe, 1600W + 1x5v Molex for Controller)?
Most boards "only" have connectors for PCIe, but I wouldn't like an extra PSU for the Controllerboard. Any suggestions?
Kind regards

I've been working on something to power a Raspberry and optionnally charge my phone from my server PSUs while I'm messing around with the miners. I can make a little upgrade to the circuit board to also output the +5v to a molex connector.
I'll need up to 2 weeks to have some of those boards in hands.

As I said yesterday, the PSU was tested before shipping.
That's the reason why the fans were still plugged in the breakout board when you received them.
I'm getting the fans with bare wires and I add the connectors myself.
Testing before shipping allows to check the following:
-Functionality of the breakout board
-Functionality of the PSU
-Functionality of the fans and correct polarity of the connector

But the brass spacers I'm using could have moved during transport to touch something inside the PSU.

Your feedback will help to improve the service, so I'll add some insulation to the next DPS2000 kits to avoid any future issue.

And here are the first pics of the boards:

2x USB ports able to charge Iphone/pad/pod, Samsung,... at full speed
Or simply power raspberries/beaglebone...

1x Molex HDD connector with a cable to power a KNC controller.

The board is a pass through, so you can still use your PCI-E cable to power anything.

Rated at 3A, over 92% efficiency for the voltage converter, you'll only draw 16w from your PSU if you manage to max out the USB ports and the Moles HDD plug.

Price will be 19$ for the first batch, including one short PCI-E to PCI-E cable and one Molex HDD to Molex HDD cable.

Are you offering this as a replacement psu and board for the S4?  And when will this be available if so?  Bitmain is pushing me towards their new psu but it's 220-240 volt, not exactly a replacement for us that have 110-120 volt setups.

Have you tested these with a Neptune or Titan controller yet? I built something similar but used an off the shelf 12V -> 5V 3A step down.. The Neptune spikes above 3A from time to time so I can't keep the controller stable when it is running at more than 2Th or so. I picked up some 8A converters to wire in and haven't had an issue since, haven't measured the actual peak usage though, I know 8A is way overkill.

Thanks for letting me know, it's an upgrade to the one I'm using to power raspberries or charge my phone when I'm next to the miners. no KNC units here.
The buck converter should handle a bit more than 3A, but I'll look at another one just in case it'd fail.
A few units have been dispatched for testing.

Hi, I'm still waiting to get the cages/housings made to hold the board and PSUs, but if you are in a hurry, one board and 2 of the DPS1200FA or similar Common Slot power supplies are the strict minimum you'll need.
